I like it too. A uniform package (home ,away, alternate). Should get a nice variety of uniforms and a lot of the uniforms will end up working for anyone of the logos.

So, would people be voting on a uniform SET? Meaning, what if I like Deft's home, gbmoore's away, and alinken's alternate?

Get the party started.

It does NOT have to be the winning logo? We could end up with a purple fishy searay uniform for a yellow starburst sunray logo. No big deal to me but could be a bit of a letdown if the uni doesn't fit the logo in your game.

Let's get this thing started! I'm almost done with my Timberjacks unis.

If the uniform designers agree with this proposal, then I will take the rules and procedures and post them each week like we did for the logo favorites. Since I am not skilled with posting polls and graphics on the forum, we would need someone like jnshmoo (who did a superb job on the logo polls) to take care of that. It would be great if we could convince him to do it. If it does not overload him, he might perhaps consider it. If he can't do it, I'm sure there are many other talented computer guys who would be willing to do it. This community is really blessed with talented and gifted people who share their time and skill with us.

Let me know what your feelings are about this proposal.

Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
Eugene, I replied to your PM.

Normally I'd be happy to help out, but the logo contest is fairly time consuming already, so it's best that I just stick with that one. I would be willing to set up a dedicated email address for the sole use of the contest if the person doing the polls wants/needs. If so, just have that person let me know and I'll set them up with the account and settings to retrieve it via webmail or outlook type email program.

I would say vote on individual uniforms. What we can do is present the "home" uniforms in one vote, the "away" uniforms in a 2nd vote, and the "Alt" uniform for the 3rd vote. I would put all of the votes up at once but that way the uniform is the vote, not the pack.

Okay, based on your recommendations.

Updated rules:

1)The moderator and or team decides on the team name and mascot (at least initially the same as the logo contest).

2) The moderators give a time limit for when to submit the entries

3) The logo to be used in the uniform must be made the winning logo from the logo contest.

4) The art on the uniform must be used from the selected logo but the lettering can be the designers own.

5) Make the uniform template with my standard template (Note: If you want to modify a template color or some other uniform mod, that is fine as long as it is interchangeable with Bobble heads)

6) Make 3 .bmp (1 home/1 away using the default head in my template, 1 alternate (using the same template but a different face and/or alternate uniform)

7) Zip the template .PSD files and the bmp files and upload them alinken.

8) The moderator or chosen alternate will post the bmp files in three polls (home, away, and alternate) and the polling will last a week.

instead of bmp we should do jpg since thats only for viewing on the OOTP board and bmp files will be too big for the message board.

Eugene, will you be the 3rd party in charge of posting the votes and logos?

The JPG shots should also be emailed to the 3rd party so they can set up the votes.

I wish I had the knowledge and skill to do it, but I don't have a clue as to the way to do it. All I know how to do is post a thread...and occasionally can post a logo picture.

I will be glad to post the name of the city/nickname/uniform to be designed each week and the rules and procedure for entering...like I did for the logo competition...and promote the polls. But someone else will have to volunteer, who has the computer skills to receive the entries, upload them to this forum, create a poll...and then announce the winner and upload all of the entries to BigCity's, JoeRock's sites (if they would like to include these with the logos)...alinkens has already said he would host the uniforms.

jnshmoo said he just doesn't have the time to do both the uniforms and the logos at the same time. Otherwise he would have been glad to do it.

I would suggest that a voter be allowed to vote for more than one uniform, too. That may make the non-winning entries feel better. If we can only vote for one...it can get kind of one-sided and appear to be a runaway...when the competition is much closer than the vote shows.

Anyone out there willing to help out as a 3rd party???

If we cant get anyone as a 3rd party I can do the vote posts, but it might look better if we had a 3rd party.

I think we would still like Eugene to tell us which logo to use and when.

The rules and procedures need to be finalized.

And we need to find someone to do the polls and uploads.

ANY VOLUNTEERS?

I will be glad to post the name of the city/nickname/uniform to be designed each week and the rules and procedure for entering...like I did for the logo competition...and promote the polls.

Uniforms designers need to voice their opinions about the format to use...someone has said they should be in JPG so they can be posted here on the forum.

The designers should state their opinions soon, so that Deft can finalize the rules and procedures.

I think all we REALLY need from a 3rd party is to be an email address to collect the submissions, right? Even someone in the contest can create the voting poll.

jpg format seems to make more sense to me. In order for whomever makes the poll post to fit them on the forum, it will likely have to be jpg to keep the size down.

I'm willing to merge the submissions into one .jpg if that's even necessary.

I would do the vote poll, but if everyone emailed me their submission then I could alter mine before posting them.

jpg is the best option because of the board viewing problem.

Updated Rules:

7) Zip the template .PSD files and the bmp files and upload them alinken.

8) The Insert Name will post the .jpg files in three polls (home, away, and alternate) and the polling will last a week.

This would be easier than the logo contest setup because we already have the name, mascot and logo so all the poll creator has to do is collect the files, put them on one big jpg file and post the polls.

Actually, someone else could just collect the files and hold them until everyone submits. He can then just turn them over to someone else (alinkens, me, whoever) for merging into one .jpg and creating the poll. Just so no one of us gets to see everyone else's work before the deadline.

Actually sounds like Eugene could do it. Are you opposed to that?

1)You receive the files via email until the deadline.
2)Send them alinken via email and he can consolidate them and posts them (as long as you confirm he didn't change anything)

Just so I am clear... Are we saying that the 3rd uniform can use a pre-made head from one of the existing face packs or are we saying that the 3rd face needs to be brand new??

I think the 3rd head can be anything -- premade, new, the template head, whatever. Deft to confirm, however.

Correct. The third image is for the designer to decide. Some ideas:

Celebrity head (George W checking into CF for the Rounders)
Blending 1900's uniform with a modern design for a retro-uniform
Custom Facegen head or already made Bobble head
Real World player in his new Otters uni
Over the top colors like a 70's uni
