I sim one day at a time, but usually just stop to see if any major injuries or trades have happened, then continue through the end of the week. I stop on Mondays to check transactions and talent bumps. I also like to write up the results of my solo league.... you can read about them in my Historical Geography League dynasty thread. Oh, by the way, I'm much more into historical simming than fictional - although fictional can be fun too if you take the time to develop some history.

I take the most current MLB roster, wipe it and run a draft, always as manager of a NL team. Sim week to week, interupting for milestones/injuries. then at end of week read all the news, check mail, rosters, who's hot/not, leaderboards, minors reports, player tracker. make roster adjustments if needed then sim next week.
Play all playoff games, late season pennant chase games, and possible milestone games that interest me. Had a guy over .395 avg on my squad last week of a season and played the games trying to get him over .400 and sit him. Then just let fictional guys filter in for following seasons.

Noooo lol... came so close but i could never get him above .400 Joe Pohl was his fictional name if I recall.. he was the best fictional player in my solo OOTP4 league..
I grew more attached to following his career than any "real" mlb players.

I play only 1 solo league, it's been going ever since I got my first version of OOTP. It's a fictional league that I sim by week. I manage one team but since I got very attached to the league, I preactically know every player in the entire 24 team league. I think simming by week is proably the fastest way to go and yet still gives enough break to be able to associate to the players around the league.
