Great to hear about the new features. Cash along with trades is great but how about draft picks with trades too? That sometimes happens in real baseball.

Hope your move went well. I've moved too many times in the past while I was in the Navy. I know how rough they can get.

keep up the good work.

There is no draft pick trading in MLB.

But I'd like to see it in OOTP eventually.

No, but teams do get draft picks in compensation for losing top-tier free agents, but only if they offer them arbitration.

Markus or Steve or someone,
Now that it's sort of iminent that OOTP6 will be released without H2H support, will there still be new screenshots posted within the next few days, or has that plan been ditched all-together?

And in the Major Leagues, I believe most of the actual "draft pick" trading comes from trading Prospects. Whenever I hear about the Reds trading a pitcher or something, usually it always involves prospects, which is why I believe OOTP doesn't need draft pick trading, even though it is sort of useful in online leagues.

Thanx for setting me straight. I don't know what I was thinking.

What about the player to be named later? LOL

LGO, thanks for all your efforts re: schedules, and much appreciation for your contributions to this community. And special thanks for asking every single question that I was framing upon reading Markus' posts.

Now all we need are answers.

re: draft pick trading...

While this is indeed against the rules in MLB (and actually -- a draft pick cannot be traded for the first year following his signing), MLB has on several occasions looked the other way on this.

The Expos traded the "rights" to Pete Incaviglia to the Rangers after Inky refused to sign, a supposed no-no, but MLB let it slide... and I believe there have been a number of trades over the last couple years that involved players not eligible to be traded...

Matching MLB exactly is hard to do -- you'd need to develop some sort of "evil AI" engine that would arbitrarily apply rules as it suited the owners and the...uhhh... beloved commish

Currently in the ST portion of the game you have to export it (to your expimp file) and then attach that file to an e-mail to your commissioner (this is for online leagues).

This new function will allow you to click one button and sent the file via FTP (online) just like you currently do with your roster exports.

Schedule import-export=SWEET. That last month of intradivisional games is going to be a great way to finish each season! Home-and-home Yankees-BoSox, Giants-Dodgers, etc.

I will be writing my Excel macros soon!

I'm with everyone on the cash trades. This will be awesome in online leagues. I hope it is an option that can be toggled though. I can just see the first post from a solo modern day player..."The Pirates just sent their top prospect + $3 million to the Yankees for a 1 star 35 year old!"

This is like General Motors announcing a new version of the Olds 98 at your dealers on April 1st. Then saying on April 1st, would you mind if we only offer the new Olds 98 without our new feature .........turning lamps, cruise control and leather seats !!!! We will install those features later for you.

Come on now !!!
