I cant help but agree with earl on this one. Sure, he might be a little lazy and unwilling to perform a very simple procedure to change the resolution. However, like he said, almost every other game out there offers the consumer the ability to play the game in different resolutions. I have never heard (until now) of a game being restricted to just one screen resolution. But, the fact remains: nothing can be done about it. My advice to you earl is to simply change the resolution before playing TBCB, and then change it back if neccessary when you exit the game. Or buy a new monitor.

The game is not restricted to one resolution, it has to be 1024x786 or higher. And there are a couple of other games that require that, for instance OOTP5 (I think). I also know that CM4 requires an even higher resoltution to run in a window (it runs full screen otherwise). And like ey215 said, it's a myth that text sims are not as complicated as graphically intense games, they both pretty much need to same (to a certain degree). It's just a matter of where that complication goes. For instance, while CM may not have intense graphics like the latest Flight Simulator, I'm pretty sure the amount of AI code in CM would probably dwarf the amount of AI code in Flight Simulator. It's all a mtter of what is required for each genre.
Anyway, it's all a moot point now since I beleive earl said in another thread that he figured out how to easily change the resolution (I think before he was doing it some complicated way where he had to reboot each time...). So basically, at least from earl's perspective, the issue is dead. |
