there is a good reason why they didn't win more WS than that in the 90s... only thing the manager know how to do is replace a pitcher after his usual 100 pitches... |

Back on topic, Baseball Mogul used to start popping in female players after 15-20 years or so. I thought it was annoying as hell. YMMV.

Well, and this may color me a sexist although I don't think so, I don't think it is realistic that women, at least in this stage of our evolution, could play MLB. Maybe, just maybe, one very exceptional athlete could do it. The problem with Mogul was that there would be like 10 a year which was just ridiculous. It used to bug me so much I would start a new career at that point.

You could have just changed the year females were introduced if I remember correctly. But who cares now.

I suppose some might like a co-ed league (actually I might like that
) but I do think it would be more fun to create a women's league like that which existed in World War 2. Would make a fun website to follow

On a sorta but not really related note...
There was actually a charity baseball game held over this weekend in Tucson at Tucson Electric Park. The game ran for 24 hours straight and all of the players were women. Very cool...

![]() Drew Henson ?? Anyone that wants him could probably get him for a piece of 5 cent Bazooka. The fact that they are still paying him is a crying shame. Also just for the record, I was around for the bad bad days of the 1980's Yankees.....They were being laughed at in those years |

Nukester, I respect your opinion, if only because your avatar doesn't make me puke.

http://www.topprospectalert.com/TPA/912918.shtm The thing is, Yankees' resources allowed them to grab more "prospects" like Soriano, Henson, Andy Morales(!!!), Willy Lo Pena( grabbed from the hand of Marlins and Mets), or all the other Cuban players.

Probably the biggest factor for me being a Yankee fan is that I live about less than an hour from the stadium. Watching my mother and 2 brothers agonize over the Mets through my most formable years of the 70's, I sided with my father and his love for the Yankees. Of course the 26 World Championships, and Babe, Dimaggio, and Mantle doesnt hurt the love any. I could absolutlely guarantee you, if I was born and raised in St. Louis or Cleveland or something, I would not be a Yankee fan. I think its safe to say the Yankees could buy anyone they want though. I dont dispute that at all. Im just saying that, aside from a few great pitchers, they did not buy this championship team. Last edited by Nukester; 10-21-2003 at 09:08 PM. |

Look, the Yanks have the ability to make mistakes and not suffer for them financially, at a level above others- they have an ability to acquire talent without financial considerations. But to blame the Yanks for baseball, especially from Red Sox fans (who spent $104 million this year on payroll), is ridiculous. The yankees, for the rest of us, are in that unfortunate congruence where they have intelligence and money- I for one was rooting for them to loose because it meant that Cashman would be fired, and that the likes of Torborg or Minaya would become Yanks- which is a good thing (given their general incompetence) for everyone else.

That has what to do exactly with the fact the Yankees are bashed for being great? I mean really... If the Yankees are soooooo EVIL, how could they win? I mean, wouldnt this be like, Darth Vadar and the Empire defeating the Rebel Forces. Maybe since you bashed Nuke for his avatar, maybe Boston is actually like that whiney Birtish girl and whined and moaned when she didnt get the goose she wanted, so she through a temper tantrum, and got flushed down the bad egg dispenser... Now thats a good comparison for Theo, and Boston, since Theo cried like a bizzatch when the Yankees out did them to sign Contreras... But Contreras never wanted to play in Boston, he wanted to play for a winner, so he chose the Yankees... Dont hate the hater. By the way, theres nothing wrong with my dancing plumber from Brooklyn...
