Oh no, now you want different versions for different eras? It already feels like my thinking cap is drained of ideas... anyone know where I can pick up a fresh supply of thinking caps?
![]() Actually, that is an interesting idea. It presents some interesting choices, such as just how much (or how little) to change the logo. Think I'll have to give a try to updating the two I've done so far. Thanks nmleague for mentioning banners - you've just given me a couple of good ideas as well as an entirely new design element to play around with I hadn't thought of before. Excellent! |

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm in awe of the artistic abilities of many board members. Did want to point you to some backintheday logos, though, because I'm not sure everyone is exactly sure of what constitutes a pre-computer, pre-machine-stitchery logo. You can flip through many of the hats to hopefully get inspiration. Check out especially the Cubs and the Royals. |

Well this took longer than I was anticipating, but finally, here is my take on a later year version of the Troy Haymakers logo I did earlier (I'll leave it up to everyone else to determine which era it fits in
)

LGO, SDP, nml:
All of you do excellent work. I hope you don't mind the comments: LGO: Great Excelsiors and Troy...all flawless...fine design, good colors, good color contrast, fit the time period. SDP: I really like the first Brooklyn Bridegrooms...white and orange on black...good color contrast and easy to read...might suggest Olde English B's if they are not hard to read as an alternative. Version 2 was a little cluttered and not as easy to read. Boston Beaneaters: nice design...and very appropriate for the early 1900's...good contrast...easy to read. nml: Boy, are you prolific...and talented. Brooklyn Bridgegrooms: brown on yellow...excellent design...good colors and contrast...easy to read. Pioneers: Excellent....same as Brooklyn. Keystone: gold on brown...nice design...but needs better contrast to make Keystone easier to read. Keystone and Pioneers done in blue/gold...hard to read...need better contrast...nice design. Keystone: yellow on black...good colors and contrast..nice design. Knickerbockers: agree with Henry...version one (yellow) colors not to my taste... version two (red/black/white) much better colors, but the black stripes make it too busy for me and hard to read...nice top hat...would prefer "K" to the "N" on the top hat...unless the team's name is New York Knickerbockers, then I would prefer "NY". All in all...very nice work by all. |

Tried to make some improvements, this may actually be better for the 1920's

Okay, here is my version for a later year Excelsiors logo. I have some ideas for the Pioneers logo, I'll have to get to those. Still have to get my idea for the Pastime in there too.
![]() Anyway, here's the second Excelsiors logo: |

I think you improved them a lot. They both are much easier to see. I like them, but Henry will be the final judge. You guys are really doing a great job for him. Did you leave out an "n" in Knickerbockers? |

The designers continue to roll
![]() nmleague. Just a couple spelling issues "Knickerbockers" (I'm sure you already caught that one) and "Keystones" with an "s". On the Knicerbockers, maybe a top hat, cane and gloves would be a bit more classy for the name - but I definately like your last version the best. The Keystones has me stumped a bit.. I really like the one I'm currently using but think it's a later era than 1901... not sure I've seen what I'm looking for yet. LGO, Great update on the Excelsiors! The way you moved "Brooklyn" below the B is similar to a small change I was thinking of for the original, since the test was too small once it was scaled down. I've included a sample of what I changed below - you might have a better font though. Can't wait to see your other ideas. ![]() ps: Love the way you "subdued" the original "B" in the background. SDPpadres, I'm hoping you plan on coming back to modify the Beaneaters. I really like that one !! These are going to be some of the greatest logos ever It will be even more fun to follow the UBA with these logos decorating the pages !! Henry

I hope I have the right Pioneers. If you like this format, I can play around with the font a bit.

Two more screen shots, just ignore the town name, plugged the logos into my solo league.
