14/15 Season Preview

Big news Ovechkin is traded to Carolina! Wild get Erik Karlsson in return!

Kopitar-Toews-Kessel-Carlson-Weber
Tavares-Spezza-Tarasenko-Burns-Hamilton
Semin-Barkov-Seguin-Reilly-Klingberg
Hyman-Zibanejad-Kane

Lehtonen/Shesterkin(forsberg to minors)

1)Rangers
2)Jets-Nop changes to their team. excellent top12 with Lundqvist
3)Devils-Nash with Getzlaf and Vanek, Green in d, with Claude Giroux
4)Flyers-Overated, Ullmark in net though.
5)Toronto-Kane Duchene and Yandle

9)Carolina- i think they may be 3rd favourites with me now, Rask-Horton-Pitkanen-KUCHEROV & OVECHKIN with E. Staal!
7)Columbus- Sedin and Crosby
16)Colorado-McDavid not in league yet
12)Vancvouer-Landeskog and MacKinnon, Cam Fowler, Huberdeau and Niedereitter. all young. This team will be a drak horse

The metro is just stacked, Carolina, New Jerey Columbus and us are 4 of my top 5 teams. Philedlphia are highly ranked as well. Winnipeg should win the title as they won't have to face that death row every night!

Our target is to win division and get to 500 goals if we can against this competition.

Top Teams: Rangers, Hurricanes & Jets
Elite:New Jersey, Columbus & Vancouver
Dark Horse: Colorado(if mcdavid promoted)

2014/2015

This should hopefuly be a great season, i'm looking forward to the challenge, of the Winnipeg Jets top 6, and the Kucherov-Ovechkin combination in Carolina. Ovechkin now has a chance of a Stanley Cup, Crosby should try to move there and create posisbly the strongest front three ever!

Game 1: Rangers 13-4 Stars! Hell of a way to start! We are 21-0 in the first quarter, Stamkos and the Islanders started off hot but have cooled down. I may have overlooked this team, with Panarian Geaudreau Stamkos Hedman and Streit! So many good attackers now in the league! My predictions are awful, Carolina 6-10-2, Winnipeg, 11-8-1! Pavelski on a course for 70, compared to 160 last season! Hurricanes scoring a bunch , but concedeing way more! Minnesota on other had 13-6! Columbus and Vancouver are playing like top6, devils my other pick are 10-10! Kessel leads all players with 47. Toews is thriving as my number 1 centre, Kessel top scorers with 24. This mean Spezza is out next year. Rangers on course for 564 goals. Roll on this season

Halfway. I have switched tactics to very rare backchecking and heavy pressure wih often passing and low shoowting. Tempo is high. And it seems to have given us a lift in goals. Am obviously leaving everything as is after that perfect start. Avalanche get beat 14-1. That will be a hrad scoreline to repeat in their McDavid years. Our win streak is shut down by yep, the Winnipeg Jets, our bogey team. a 9-5 defeat that was close, but they are still behind the Wild, level on pts but played 3 more games. Carolina and the Devils still struggling. Rangers 40-1-1. With 301 goals! Lapping the field this year. Philadelphia are best of the rest, so much for me calling them overrated. Minnesota have fallen off so are in a tight fight with Winnipeg and Preds. Montreal owns the atlantic, Vancouver and San Jose tight in Pacific. In Atlantic, Carolina and New Jersey fighting for 2nd wild car spot. Kessel on course for 230 points and 91 goals!

3/4 Goal slowed, but still on pace for 580, beat Winnipeg 5-2, but lost to Vancouver twice, one in a shoot out. Ovechkin went on a man scoring drive, including a 5 goal game to take the goal scoring lead. Kessel miles ahead in pints still on course for 210. Winnipeg had a sdtrong quarter, VAancouver and Phildelphia on 95 points both behind our 120.

End of Season. Kessel ends up with 200 points bang on! second to Ovechkin in goals, We end up 156 points and 571 goals. 6 of the top 9 teams are in the Metro! New Jersey don't make the playoffs. But Washington, araen't in the playoffs despite a 101 point season! They are behind the Islanders and Hurricanes for the wild card spot. The Bruins thanks to a third spot in the Atlantic get a playoff spot despite being 90 points only good enough for 10th in the East. The metro division really is stacked. Vancouver and Phildelphia best of the rest. Winnipeg were on a tear though, they'll still be a threat. Columbus and Carolina the other top teams are in my draw. Will be a tough playoff series, as up against top teams all the way through in theory

Kessel joins Palffy, Modano and Cournoyer as 200 point club members for the Rangers
Bobby Hull, Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky and Stan Mikita the only others in the nhl.

2014/2015 Playoffs

Rnd1: We get the Islanders, Streit, Hedman Stamkos Panrin and Geaudreau. However they have no goalie, so should be able to outscore them. Goals goals goals! we win first three 8-4, 6-5 and 7-4. Islanders then sensatinonally win 3 in a row themsleves, 8-6 7-5 and 8-4. Thats 72 goals in 6 games, defence doesn't exist. The last game is the only game that does have 10 or more goals, as ridiculously enough we get a shutout! 8-0! What a crazy series

Rnd2: Canucks and Jets seep in first round, every eastern series goes to 7! Crosby's columbus is out, but Carolina are through, so we get Philadelphia, the team with the 2nd best record in the NHL, they don't ahve any star players, but a lot of depth, they finished second on merit, so this is not a series to be taken lightly. Phildelphia go down in six but we continue with the high scoring. These tactics seem to give much higher scoring games. Winnipeg sweep again, they've come into form just at the right time!

Rnd3:Toronto in a semi shock beat the Ovechkin/Kutuzov super line. Toronto are lead by Patrick Kane, with Duchesne and Yandle, but not as much depth as other teams. This is probalby the best match up for us. Vancouver and Winnipeg repeat last years western conference final. i am changing tactics as gung ho is not right for playoffs. Toronto win the first two games and i switch back to gung ho, and escape in 7! Winnipeg win in 6 and its the rematch i'm after!

Stanley Cup Final, Winnipeg, afer a poor start to the season had roared back, they've beaten us twice in last 3 years, and i'm intent on beating them. Lehtonen in 18 games has a gaa of 4.29/ Shesterkin had 2.2 in 2. He is obviously my starting GK. Kessel 39 points and Kopitar 33 points. Winnipeg having played a lot less games than us, have Pavelski on 30 and Malkin 29, both on the same rate as Kessel. In the past their second line has greatly contributed to their wins, and McDonagh has been an excellent slower of our top lines.

Game1: A 3-0 shut out for the Rangers! IGOR IGOR IGOR! 35-31 shots for the Rangers, and a match up of Shesterkin vs Lundqvist! Toews from 2 kessel assists gets the Rangers on the board first after Spezza has scored after 3mins of the 1st!

Game2: Klingberg opens the scoring after 1 min of the 1st this time, but Winipeg are ahead at the interval, Saad and Slavin. Rangers are dominating play though with a 17-9 edge in shots. In the second that grows to 32-18 and we take a 3-2 lead with Spezza and Morgan Reilly goals. The third is very even. Brown scores to even, but Tarasenko and Tavares get the goals to make it 5-3. Malkin scores from Pavelski, they got 3 points in this game, but they can't find another as we go 2-0 up.

Game3: Last year we werr 2-0 and going to MSG for a great chance to win the cup. Winnipeg then won 4 in a row. This year they are 2 down but have home games now. I still feel this is crucial to win, as we know how strong Winnipeg are. The game is a classic, with neither team dominating and shots even! Malkin from Pavelski opens the scoring, but Tarasenko and Spezza put us ahead after 1. Second period Schenn and two Reid Boucher goals sandwich Kessel and Barkov goals to leave the score tied at 4. In the third, Muzzin scores with 12 mins to go, but Kessel scores his 15th of the playoffs to tie it. We go to OT, and its a 13th goal of the playoffs for Spezza to give us a 3-0 adv!

Game4: Winnipeg get on the board, Ryan McDonagh breaking a 3-3 tie in the 3rd for a 4-3 Winnipeg lead. Malkin had a goal, but for once Pavelski pointless!

Game5: 9-1! What a crazy season, we dominate and then struggle in the playoffs(mainly as Lehtonen had a shocker, and i was too slow inputting in Igor) With Igor we won 7/8 games, and probably win the other series a lot easier! Kessel ends with 44 points Spezza 40. Dougie Hamilton with a hatrick in this game, onyl 3 rangers don't score a point in this game, its was 9-0 before Cal O'reilly spoiled the shut out.

Hart:Kessel
Conn Smythe:Kessel(what a season!)
Vezina:Jodran Binnigton (CGY)
Calder:M. Grigorenko (FLA)
Norris: Shea Weber(NYR)

Off season now and have a lot of youngsters that will need to be traded. Lehtonen and Spezza most likely out so can have cap spce. Sorokin Connor Hertl Meier Connor all pushing for a start. Kane and Semin probably to be traded.

2015/2016 NHL Draft and Pre Season

Not a deep draft, but Fox is player i desperatley want

Unavailable:Petterson, Makar

Available:Fox(Really want him!)Bratt, Hagel

I have 13th and 15th picks. interestingly i tried to swamp my 13th for the 14th pick, but they refused, no wonder trading for top 10 picks is so hard!

Trade Lehtonen(plus a 2nd and a 3rd) to LAK for 10th overall. Then trade that and Teravalinen to Buf for the 9th. But can't get any higher than that. Colorado for the 8th pick won't trade it for the 9th with Kane and Carlson! Seems to be a certain limit where the computer will just say no. Semin to anaheim for 2015 1st rnd pick Kane and Pouliot to Buf for 17 1st rnd pick
. Bus'vh and Lind to Min for a 2017 pick. Had to do those trades as had too many players in the system.

1)Pettersson-Arizona
2)Makar-Ottawa
3)Fox-Penguins, who i will wait to trade for once he signs
7)Hagel-Edmonton
8)Bratt-NYR
12)Keller-NYR
13)Batherson-NYR
15)Laine-NYR
30)Sergachev-NYR

Pick up some great offenseive players here to re stock all the players i lost. All have excellent offensive potentail, and can be used for trades if necessday later on.

2)Phillie-Schiefle, Paciorettty Ullmark
3)Winnipeg-Getting a little old but still a major force
4)New Jersey-Din't make playoffs last year, can they escape the packe metro?
5)Toronto-Patrick Kane led them to the conference finals, can they do it again?

8)Columbus-Sedin's on this team, after Henrik is traded for Alzner. Past his best though at 35.
9)Carolina-lack of d will hurt despite the oveckhin kucherov double headed beast.

2015/2016

Rangers start 20-1, Burns and Tarasenko are targets for 100 points. Real battle is the metro where a great team won't qualify. No big team starts poorly. Kessel remains on fire 56 points after 21 games and 28 goals. Rangers 150 goals!

Halfway, Tarasenko and Burns on pace for 110, Kessel 202 for league lead again, Ovechkin is on 51 after 43 games. Phildelphia again 2nd best team in thbe league. Devils again look to be odd man out in Metro. Colorado are still awful. Rangers score 143 in that quarter.

3rd Quarter, Kessel on for 206 points, Ovechkin 103 goals.New jersey Islanders & Carolina still in fight for 2 wild card sports. Phildelphia have dropped but still safe in 3rd in Metro, 3 points behind Columbus. Winnipeg as usual on a winning run, they are 48-11-4 for second in the league, we are 59-2-2, 20 points clear in first. Burns on course for 110, needs a point per game, Tarsenko 13 away. We score 153 goals in that quarer.

End of Season 144 goals takes us to a superb 590 for the season. Winnipeg and us share the 2 games we face and theres an 11-4 defeat by the Red Wings. Hopefully we won't make heavy weather of the early play off rounds that we did last year. We end with 156, but Winnipeg hit 129. They'll probably be waiting for us. Vancouver also hit 120. Devils are the team that miss our again. The game rates them as top 5, but they are not.

Ovechkin just misses out on 100 with 97 goals, Kessel gets 212, kopitar 197! Tarasenko and Burns easily make the 100 point target i set.

2015/2016 Playoffs

I tweak goalie settings as Forsberg got more games than Igor.

Rnd1: We get Carolina and their fearsome Ovechkin/Kutcherov combo, but unlike last year we dont' need 7 after a 3-0 start and sweep them by a combined score of 31-12. The west, all 4 home teams sweep! Crosby's BJ's 'upsets' Phil, but both had 112 points in the season. Boston the lowest ranked team knocks out Kane's Maple leafs, and the Islanders beat the top taem in the atlantic.

Rnd2: We get Crosby's columbus, they also have the sedins twins and parise, Niemi in net. We swept them in the regular season and start with a 9-1 win. They shock us 6-5, only for us to win 10-2, thena 6-5 for us in OT after they score a 3 goal comeback in the 3rd! Then finish the last game 5-4.

Rnd3: Canucks vs Winnbipeg for the 3rd time in a row i believe. We get old rivals the Islanders. They are led by stamkos, with Panarian, Hedman, Streit, and Gaudreau. Their problem is netminders, neither are nhl calibre, and its why they are a wild card team and not a division challenger. They are swept easily

Stanley Cup Final:Jets make it through in 7. last year we struggled into the final after a dominant season to easily beat the Jets. This year after a dominant season we've dominated the playoffs in the same way, so by sporting law, we'll probably lose against the jets now! Pavelski, as always leads with 33 points in 17 games, Malkion injured but back now. kessel (26)Tavares(24) and Kopitar(24) all after 13 games. 14 players for us have 10 or more points, most at least a point a game! Winnipeg have the same team as ever, zuccarello lundqvist Barrie mcdonagh and keith, all world class still. Keith and Lundqvist just starting to show their age a bit. but are still star players.

Game1: Winnipeg 8-6 Rangers.Tyson barrie with 3 g and 2 assists, Dustin Brown 3g. This was a close game, and what a shoot out! Lead changes several times till a 3 goal burst late in the 3rd wins it for Winnipeg.

Game2: Winnipeg 5-3 Rangers. Yep we're in trouble, despite leading 3-2 after 2, anoher 3 goal 3rd give the Jets the win! Forsberg was in net for us here, even though its shold have been Igor!

Game3: Must win, and we....DONT! Winipeg, with another 5-3 victory, They go 4-0 after 6 mins of the second, all their top players getting a point, we make a comeback, to make it 4-3 after 10 mins of the 3rd, but Zuccarello ices it

Game4: Damn this Winnipeg team is good, this time Rangers dominate the play, but Lundqvist plays like he can. He keeps the jets in it after we go 2-0 up. Schenn and Saad score and its 2-2 with 2 mins left in the period. Lundqvist had 31/33 saves, but he lets shot 34 through for the 3-2 ranger lead after 2. The 3rd period is even, and it looks like we've blow our chance of a win as Schenn scores again. We've done well against Pavelski and Malkin, but its their depth which is hurting us. We go to OT, but its the Rangers thanks to Toews who get on the board.

Game5: Don't want to lose the cup at home and we....dont! Give ourselves a chance at a historic comeback here! We get the score we should have got last game, but this game is actually closely played. Lundqvist just has a shocker, 8-3 rangers thanks to a 4 goal blitz in the second kills what was a tight game. Kessel Carlson and Kopitar leading the way. Kessel, has 9 points though 5 games, its our 2nd and 3rd lines that are struggling here. Seguin and Hyma especially*

Game6: 5-4 RANGERS! We've come back from 3-0! Tarasenko, who had been ok so far with 5 points in 6 games and a -1, gets on top of the zuccerello-brown line for a hat trick! Rangers outplay winnipeg with 83 attempts compared to 51, and a 27-30 shot edge. Brown gives them the lead, but Tarasenko gets his first and then 2 kessel assists for Seguin and Zibanejad make it 3-1 after 1. Pavelski scores the only goal in the 2nd, but Tarasenko with 2 quick fire goals makes it 5-2, and we hold on despite 2 goals in 2 minutes by the Jets to make it a tense last 7 minutes. But we hold on!

Game7: Can we complete the comeback! Winnipeg score the only goal in the 1st, and the momentum just swings back in their favour Keith from Schenn. Its a tight first period with equal shots. Second period the Rangers come out hard, and lundqvist has 19 shots to face!, he can only save 16, as Kessel, Klingberg and Burns score. Lundqvist had made several excellent stops, and its only in the late part of the period that we got the goals from Klingberg and Burns. However, 6 seconds left and Slavin from Schenn makes it 3-2 Rangers. Another momentum shift.

Thirs period, the Jets can only muster 6 shots as the Rangers are all over them. Lundqvist has seen this before and has shut us down previously, but not today, Toews with a clutch goal early, and then with 8 mins to go, we finally break through again, Lundqvist plays well, but our quality shows. Klingberg with his second goal(his only two of the playoffs!) kills it. its 5-2. Slaven from schenn(3rd assit of the day) and Malkin threaten a come back, but an en goal from Hyman gives us a 6-3 win!

Pavelski and Malkin end with 6 and 7 points espectively for the series. Pavelski had a -4 rating in the last game! Somehow Rangers win in 7 from a 0-3 comeback. We previously had that done to us, but can't remember who it was.

Pavelski top points scorer with 39, Kessel on 38. Kopitar 32. Kessel was top points score in the stanley cup series, with 12 points, but not many in clutch situations! Each game seemed to be owned by a differnt person!

Hart: Phil Kessel
Conn Smyth: Phil Kessel(him and Lemieux have won Hrt and Conn Smythe in the same year twice)Bobby Hull the leader with 3,
Calder:Connor McDavid(111 pts)-Col
Norris:John Carlson(NYR)
Vezina:Jonathan Quick(LAK)

2016/2017 Season Preview

1)Rangers-have to admit, without Spezza lines dont look as strong. Still should be enough to win the league, only Winnipeg close
2)Winnipeg-added Mike Green via trade for 4 excellent d's!
3-Philadelphia, Shiefle, Krug Theodore & kovalchuk
4-NY Islanders-Rinne-Streit/hedman-Stamkos/Panarin/Geaudreau
5-Boston-Price-.Kadri/Stone. In a week division though

9-Carolina-Rask-Ovechkin/Points/Staal/Kucherov
12-Columbus-Crosby needs out, Sedin's are past it, Hischier, too young
17-Colorado-McDavid/Draisaitl/Forsberg, no one else.

2016/2017 Regular season

Season starts with a bang, 5 goals for kessel, in a 12-2 demoliton of montreal. 8 points for Kopitar! 1st quarter, Rangers 4 ahead of Jets, no one else close. Kessel top points scorer and top goal scorer.

Half way, rangers 41-1 300 goals, Kessel 100 points and 48 goals to lead both categories. Winnipeg 35-8-1. Trade Colordao for thier this year pick and the one for nj for min and ana and right to Sergachev. TGrade NJ pick for Detroit, who looks awful.

3/4 Barkov and Seguin just off 100 point pace, so switch lines to try and get them there. we are 59-4.

End of Season, Seguin and Barkov alternate as top C's, to get to 100, Klingberg, gets to 100, as do Barkov and Seguin with 1 game to go. Rangers on 589, probably get to 600 if dont put Seguin on toplines. Kessel 188 points and 81 goals for both Art Ross and Maurice Richard. We get 158 points, Jets Flyers and Predators, all have around 120 points, so no guarnatee of an easy run in playoffs. All those teams accounted for my 5 losses.

2016/217 Playoffs

Rnd1: Glad i traded NJ pick, they really lifted off from the new year, but Gioroux, Getzalf and Nash all starting to decline. Devils done in 5, was hard at their place, but the 3 games at home we scored 29 goals! Mackinnon's Canucks are out. Crosby's BJ's and Ovechkin's Hurricanes don't even make playoffs! Nashville one of the big four teams are out to the Stars. Neither teams have a superstar, and benefit from being in the weak western conference tbh.

Rnd2: Reunited with Philadelphia. They have averaged over 118 points these last 4 years, but i've had little problem with them. Flyers down in 5. Winnipeg need an OT goal in the 7th game to proceed! Toronto(Patrick Kane) and San Jose(Jeff Carter/Roman josi) are also through

Rnd3: We face toronto at the conference final for 3rd time in 4 years. We won both previous times 4-1, and a tense 4-3 where i think we were down 3-1. Toronto are swepth easily. Jets with another 7 games series are through.

Stanley Cup Final: Jets vs Rangers, 4th year in a row in the SCF, and the 6th time we've met straight, as before that we were in the same conference and met in the confernce finals twice in a row. Rangers 3-2 up, but onylthanks to that 0-3 series comeback last year! Pavelski Malkin and Zuccarello arae top scorers for them. Kessel for us with KopitAR and Tarasenko. Lundqvist 35 now, and a lot of their star players are around 30. Not sure how many years they have left at the top. But still expecting a tough battle here as ever

Game1:Pavelski makes it 1-0 after 8 mins of the 1st. Barkov and Carlson from 2 Toews assist in the last 5 mins gives us a 2-1 lead into the intermission. Malkin equalises in the second, and a game which is even, is dominate in the 3rd, 20 shots to 6 for the Rangers who add 3 goals in the last 10 mins for the 5-2 win. Kopitar, Tarsenko and Hyman

Game2: Rangers dominate for two periods, with a 35-19 shot adv! However Lundqvist keeps them out in the first, whilst Keith and Zucarello make it 2-0. Into the second, we finally solve Lundqvist though Morgan Rielly, but Pacquette makes it 3-1 with half the game gone. Tarasenko from Toews second assist of the night followed by Seguin on the powerplay, leaves it tied at 3 heading into the 3rd. The 3rd is even, but its Winnipeg who score first through Deslauriers, and then Backlund. Lundqvist is not the lundqvist of old, and we scored 3 goals in the 12, 17th and 19th minute to win it. Kessel, Weber and Kopitar with the goals.

Game3: Game 2 felt like a statement, so expecting the Rangers to put winnipeg away now. The first period is the exact same as the last period in game 2, 2 goals for Winnipeg-Schenn and Malkin, only for us to score 3-Aho, Carlson and Kopitar. Into the second Kopitar makes it 4-2, Paquette reduces the deficit, before Toews makes it 5-3 Into the third, and its even, but Lundqvist is making saves. Backlund makes it 4-5, and Barrie from Malkin ties it! Into the OT period, and Deslauriers from Barrie and Malkin puts Winnipeg back in the series! Malkin had 3 points. Pavelski again hasn't really come to life in the final.

Game4: I have a feeling the winner of this will win the series, Rnagers dominate, with 48 shots to 29, but its even after 1. Kessel and Weber being answered by Muzzin and Kuzmenko. A three goal 2nd, with Toews Barkov and Weber, leaves the Jets a mountain to climb. Jets massively out shot here, and in the 3rd its 20 shots to 11 for the Rangers. But Igor has an absolute melt down. he allows foru goals in 6 mins 30, to leave the jets 5-4 up. Malkin with 2 goals. Forsberg comes in, but Malkin scores two more goals! Pavelski with 3 assists and this series is tied!

Game5: I leave Igor in net, expecting a response., but this game is close. very close in fact. One man wrecking crew Malkin makes it 1-0 on the pp, Tavres equalies, Schenn puts the jets back in front before Rielly makes it 2 after 1. Green and Saad sandwich an Adam Fox goal, so Jets 4-3 up heading into the 3rd. Toews equalises, and with 1 min 30 to go, is Saad with the winner for the Jets. I have flashbacks to a previous sc final where we went 2-0 up and they stormed back to win 4-2. Need to step up big next game

Game6: Tarasenko needs to step up, he's previously been cluthc but disappeared this series. Winnipeg go 2-0 up early, Boucher and Schenn, but Weber and Kopitar equalise. Malkin and Pavelksi make it 4-2, as Tarasenko gets his goal to go with his assist in the first period. in the third Rangers pepper Lundqvist, but he's found his game and we can't get through, an EN goal ices it (Brown) and Winnipeg are champions! Man i hate this team! Malkin was palyoff points scorer unsuprisngly

Hart:Kessel
Conn Smythe:Malkin
Calder:Kevin Fiala(FLA)
Norris:John Klingberg(NYR)
Vezina-Igor Shesterkin

2017/2018 Expansion, Draft and Pre Season

Hymna, Forsberg and Sorokin are unprotected in draft, everyone else is safe.

Forsbreg and Hyman are taken

Seguin and Hertl are trade baits as well. Rasmus Dahlin the only big name in this draft, which i have 4th pick! and several others. After the 4th they'll all be traded.

1)Hayton-Vegas
2)Dahln-Ottawa
3)Dobson-Pitt
4)Lundkvist(he's well rated in the game, and better that svechnikov)
5)Svechnikov(Stl)

Whole lot of trades. I give up the rest of this years picks, my 2019 and 2020 1st, plus Seguin, Hertl, Hintz, Kempe and Batherson, for 5 first roud picks, 1 from NJ and 2 from Toronto and Columbus. All these player are not making the team, and with Necas Thomas and Bratt still in the system we have replacments.

Sorokin, Laine, Meier and Thomas come in for Frosberg &Hyman(expansion) and the traded Hertl and Seguin.

2017/2018 Season Preview

1)Rangers- should be stronger, Seguin, Hyman and Hertl, not as good as Connor Aho and Keller who take their positions. Also Fox is looking prime.
2)Winnipeg-Older but still a threat.Lundqvist and Keith boith 35.
3)Philadelphia-Same core, its their 3 star 3rd and 4th lines that keep them top 3
4)NY Islanders-Hedman.StraitPanarin Geaudreau, Stamkos
5)Buffalo-Reinhart/Pastrnak/T. Hall.

9)Carolina-Should be chalenging with fab 4 of Point, Staal, Kucherov and Ovechkin
11)Colorado, McDavid best player in league now, Sergachev in d should help them, with Forsberg and Driasaitl a stunning top line. Not much else though
17)Columbus-Crosby and Seguin, i've been targetting their picks for a reason, they really shouldn't make the playoffs.

2017/2018 Regular Season

Hoping for 600 goals if possible.

First quarter 21-0 andf 155 goals. Its Kopitar who is top pts and goal scorer

Half way, well i think the agin stats of players who i haven't modified, mainly most players after top 10 in draft, is hitting the game. I'm at 8.5 goals per game now. 178 goals scores in 21 games and we are 42-0. winnipeg and Dallas are 28-9-5 at same stage, 23 points behind at half way. Kopitar has 116 and Kessel114, The season record could go. Kopitar 51 goals Kessel 45. 8 of my players on for 100, Zibanejad Rielly and Connor all for 90, if Kessel and Kopitar fall of the Gretzky charge i'll give them those three more pp time to get there. Not much else to play for this season. On pace for 666 goals. Record is 643 set in the 70's, also hit 641 in 97/98

3/4 fight to get Mika, Reilly and Connor to 100, Kopitar and Kessel at 230 pace of Gretzky 242 record. On pace for 670 goals still.

End of Season, Put Reilly & Zibanejad on top lines, and whilst Connor on 2 line with Toews and 2nd pp unit to try and get them to 100. 8 games left they all need 11/12 points. Kopitar and Kessel pass 200 but 242 out of reach. Last game of season for us, Ziba and Rielly get to 100, Connor needs 1 more point to be 11th player on our team to reach 100. Also we are 83-0! Kopitar 224 pts and 96 goals, Kessel 92 goals and 218 points! Some double act, they still scored at same rate with Mika at C rather than toews, 4 people get 150 pts, Tarasenko and Toews. Last game is a 7-4 win over Vancouver, and its Connor with the second assist on the last goal we score ay 17:39 of the third! A perfect 84-0, lots of teams around the 110 mark. Florida are not as bad as epxected so don't get the top 5 pick i expected from them, but Edmonton are so get another good pick for the draft.

2017/2018 Playoffs

Hopefully can have a perfect season, but we had several shoot/out ot wins this year. McDavid's Colorado made the playoffs, as did Crosby's BJ's and Ovechkin's Carolina. Phildelphia as always next best, with Winnipeg Arizona and Buffalo the division champs. Devils finised 30th, which is good as i have their draft pick not this draft but next.

Rnd1: Go back to my best lines, as face the panarian-stamkos-geaudreau-hedman Islanders. Win first two by a score of 20-6 and then combined 12-3 at theirs for the sweep. Winnipeg are out, in 6 to the very average Blues, that is a shock! Colorado through in a sweep, Buffalo knock out Carolina, and in 7 Crosby is out to Philadelphia. Very likely Crosby and Ovechekin will never get a sc in this playthrough.

Rnd2: Philadelphia, and they've been tough, 2 1 goal games in our favour in the regular season, with 3 thumpings. So they could spoil my perfect season! First game is a 4-3 win thanks to a late winner in the 3rd from Connor.[B]Perfect season is gone/[B] Phil wins 5-4 GUTTED! We were 4-1 up. 6-1, 9-3 and 11-3 victories follow for a 4-1 series win, but perfection has eluded us. McDavid makes the conference final with a 4-3 series win over the gritty Blues. They'll face Arizona who beat San Jose in 6. Boston suprisingly beat Buffalo!

Rnd3: Boston-Carey Price Mark Stone and Nazim Kadri. Lets see how much of a fighbt they can put up. we won 3 games in the regular seaons by 2, 3 and a 4 goal margin! 9-2 home win to start, thena 4-2 tense win. Were 2-0 down after 2, only to get a sput of 4 goals before the 15th min of the 3rd! 7-2 for us in Bos, and 7-3 for the sweep. Arizona 3-1 up after we go through, and they knock out McDavid's Avalanche for i think their first appearance in the Finals

Rnd4: Its not a Rangers-Jets final, but technically, its a Rangers verses the Original Winipeg Jets final with the Arizona Coyotes. Arizona is lead by a fearsome topline, Pettersson, Matthews and Rantanen. Finished 2nd overall in the league with 118 pts, 425 goals and 297 conceded. We beat them 6-3,6-2 and 8-1 in the regular season, so aiming for a sweep here.

Game 1: 6-3 win,Out top 3 lines all score, we are ahead 2-1 after the first, But the second auston Matthews goal makes it 2-2 after 2. Score is then tied at 3 with 7 mins left, but we score after 13, 15 and 17 mins to win it.

Game2: 9-5 win! 3-0 to us after win 3-3 after 2! But then 6 goals in the third by us win it, after Matheson had putr them ahead! Again everyone contributes for us.

Connor is actually top of the points in the playoffs. But 10 rangers all have 20+ points. Draistail next best non Ranger with 25, and Matthews had 24 for Arizona

Game3: This game was topsy turvy, we go 2-1 up after the 1st. and then two goals inside a minute to begin the 2nd, looks like we have iced it. But sensationally, Arizona score two goals in the next minute!
Name: Screenshot 2026-05-01 131918.png

McCann equalises after 8 minutes for 4-4. Kessel and fox make it 6-4 before the period is up! Matthews scores early in the 3rd to reduce the deficit to 1, before Kopitar adds insurance with 7 to go. Its neede as Matthews scores again, but we hold out! Shots and play fairly even. we actually outshot them 41-35, but that was mostly the first period. Next two periods Coyotes probably edged it. 7-6 win for us

Game4: Can we finish 100-1 for the season? NO. Arizona with a 4-3 tight win. Matthews gets the equalising goal in the 1st, before Shinnimin Moore and Mahew make it 3 goals in a row to make Kessel opener in the sedcond irrelevant. Tavares gets one more in third but not enough.

Game5: Surley a procession, in front of our home fans Its a win, but Arizona stuck around in that game, going 2-1 up and wasn't till late in the 3rd did we put it away. Kessel anjd Kopitar with the points.

We fnish the season with a few records, 100-2 overall record 84-0 in the season and a 16-2 record in the playoffs. i think best playffs of 4 series was a 16-1. Goals scored of 683 most certainly is as is differential of 456. Kopitar lead plyoff performers with 33, Kessel and Connor had 32. Anze Kopitar joins the 200 club, and beats Kessel record of 212 points as most for a Ranger. Kessel also beats his previous record but has 220 points to 226 for Kopitar.

Hart: Anze Kopitar
Conn Smyth: Anze Kopitar
Calder: Mikhail Sergahev (Col)
Norris: John Klingberg
Vezina: Henrik Lundqvist (WPG)

Kopitar first person to get Hart, Conn Smytthe, Maurice Richard Art Ross, and Selke. He is also the only person to get the Hart, Conn Smytthe, Maurice Richard & Art Ross since Bobby HBull who did it 3 times. in the 60's

2018/2019 Pre Season

Draft
Jack Hughes star man here.

1)Hughes-LA make no mistake
2)Zegras-New Jersey
3)Caulfield -Calgary
4)Boldy-Tampa Bay
5)Cozens -NYR
8)Lafreniere-Toronto
9)Quinn-Ottawa
13)Mercer-NYR
16):Rossi-NYR
25:k. Kakko-NYR

Not the deepest draft, but again 4 good young players who can contribute. Cozens only one with real chance of maing team. Gutted Hughes and Quinn, were taken. may well trade for them if i can in a few years.

Our team is set no change from last year, and Hesskinen will replace Weber, not for this year. Only difference Hamilton will be other defender to try to get 100 points and Fox on second line. Weber and Rielly take the 3rd line in D.

2017/2018 Season

Opening
Perfect season bid is over quckly at a rout by the hands of the Golden Knights. But thats the only defeat. philalphia, Winnipeg, Jets and Coyotes, are all around the 15-4 record. Goals are flying in.But have tweaked mins, so my 4th line get more time. Stamkos and Panarin of the Isdlanders are on 50, Kessel and Kopitar 2 back with 2 games played more!

Halfway
Record is now 39-3, 9 players for 100 points, slight drop off from the first quarter. 8 teams are around the 60 mark chasing our 78. Pavelski top of the scoring charts with 91. Panarin and Pastrnak tied on 39 for most goals. Our top Goalscorer is Tarasenko with 38. The training programs really vault our players up. Tarasneko is 857 rating for offence, Toews 836. Both almost 100 points above their actual potential. Makes this challenge very easy.

3rd Quarter 60-3, a cxouple of palyers fall off the 100 points pace, Kessel and Kopitar top by 12 from Pavelski in scoring race. Kessel and McDavid ties in a very tight top goalscorer race. 3 goals cover top 10. Philadelphia, arizona and San Jose around 90 points behind our 120. Winnipeg are way behind on 78, Colorado top their division on 83.

End of Season, 9 players get to 100, Connor and Weber put on first line to get them there. Costs us 2 defeats, and we end 78-5-1. Colorado hold off the Jets who finish strong. Phildelphia Sharks Coyotes and Canadiens other teams to get past 110 points.

Kessel wins scoring race 184, McDavid fourth 15 pts behind. But he wins top goalscorer with 84. We have 3 70 goal scorers. Tarasenko on the second line is best player i've had in that position along with Yashin in terms of points scored.

With increased time for 4th line, my lowest point scorer on the team got 41 points!

2018/2019 Playoffs

1st Rnd: We Crosby's playoffs, and we get through in 5, with a shocking game 1 where we throw away a 7-3 lead after 2!

2nd Rnd: All top teams through inthe west, with Colorado vs Winnipeg potnetial to be the changing of the guard in that division. We have the ever consistent Philadlephia as always. But we sweep them. McDavid's Colorado beat Winnipeg in to probably end their current team as a genuine contender.

3rd Rnd:Islanders 'shock' Buffalo but all team in east are closely matched. Islanders are still with Panairn, Stamkos Hedman and Gaudreau. Colorado get San Jose where Tyle Bertuzzi is on fire, with Jois their only real star player. Jeff Carter, still a threat but starting to slow at 34 now. We sweep Islanders. San Jose put up a fight against McDavid's avalanche, but go down in 6.

Stanley Cup Final: The Av's have a senational top line in Draisaitl, McDavid and Forsberg. Sergavhec a very solid presence on Dm but the lack a goalie and any defensive or forward depth. IN the playoffs Draisaitl leads with 37, Kopitar 32 and McDavid 31. Interestingly the Av's did win the 2 regular season between the teams, winning one 6-5, and losing in a shootout in the other. for 3 points to 2.

Game1: This game isn't close. its 4-0 after 1, and 6-2 after 2. Then the Rangers go into kill mode and score 6 in the 3rd. Barkov, Aho and KOpitar with 4 points each. Draisaitl as assist, the only showing for their top line.

Game2: 1st game really highlights the issues Colorado have if their top line lose to ours, and the rangers although not as lethal as game 1, still dominate play having almost 3x as many shots as the Av's win 6-2. Barkov again with 3 points. McDavid a goal and an assist

Game3: Back in Denver, Colorado show up, with a 4 goal first. In an even game Shesterkin lets in 4, and Av's 37 yo goalie Miek Smith saves 39 shots in a 6-2 win. McDavid 1 goal, Draisaitl 1 assist, as av's get contributions from everyone in their line up much to my suprise.

Game4: Rangers have outplayed the Av's for the vast majority of the 3 games, and second game in Denver, the Rangers have 35 mis possession verses 22, and 101 shot attempts to 45. Total; shots are 61-32! But its the Av's who get on the board twice in the first 7 mins of the game. Draisaitl and Schmidt. Rangers finally solve Smith, and 3 quick goals, 2 by kessel one by Toews gives them the lead, but Hartman, from a 3rd Forsberg assist ties it after 16 minutes of a sensational 1st period. the 7th goal of the period is the killer. Kyle Connor's goal with 1 min and 1 second takes the air out of Colorado. The next two periods are pretty much all in the Colorado zone, Keller scores after 11 mins of the 2nd after heavy pressure, and althoughb Poolman gets one back for Colorado, Tarasenko makes it 6-4. Its then 7-4 through Kessel's hat trick, and the game Av's score another through Wotherspoon for Forsberg 4th assist. But Aho gets an en goal lto give the scoreline the width it deserves 8-5.

Game5: Can McDavid, show up in this series? Toews and Barkov have done a number on him with him being kept of the scoreboard twive so far in this series. He gets 2 assists on 2 Draisaitl goals. The av's are two up after one, Draisaitl's first and then Pollman. Its 3-0 after 1 minute of the 2nd, before Tarasenko gets the Ranges back in it. Again the Rangers are dominating play, but Mike Smith is playing like prime Hasek with 48 saves! Into the 3rd, Drasiatl's second end the game, as Kessel gets a last second consolation 4-2 is the final score, in a game i thought we would blast them!

Game6: Can we solve MIke Smith, or will this rich vein of form continue? He's had ratings of 100 and 92 in their two wins! Also made 101 saves in the last two games! Ranges again dominate the play, 9-0 shot attempts and 56 shots against Colorado 53/27.We have 17 mis offesnive possesion, then have 11!. The first period, see's Mike Smith as ever produce save after save, and Reilly Smith beats Shesterkin after 6 mins. After 10 mins we solve Smith, through Kopitar, but its still tough to score. After 15 mins we get Tarasenko with a blast for his 13th of the playoffs, and seconds later we get a powerplay which we convert through Zibanejad, just as its about to expire. He then adds a killer 4th goal with 30 seconds left in the period.

Av's produce their best hockey in this period, and get most of their shots and possesion time here, and McDavid gets a deserved goal. However this time its Shesterkin with the saves, and Smith has to fish the puck out of his net. Connor, KOpitar and Aho on the PP end the game and series as Rangres end up 7-2 up with 25 mins of play still to go. 3rd period Av's try to come back, but Phil Keseel makes it 8-2 early. Despite Wotherspoon Hartman and Draisaitl, scoring 3 goals in 4 mins to give the Av's the faintest of hope as there is still 13 mins left in the period, the Rangers turn it back on and score goals 9 and 10 through Connor and Meier to make it 10-5! Rangers win 4-2, with MIke Smith heroics giving them a chance! Draisaitl and Kopitar end top of playoff scoreshseets with 45. Draisaitl more goals, but Kopitar less games.

Hart: Kessel
Conn Smyth: Kessel(Kopitar the lindsay)
Calder:Jason Robertson(TB)
Norris: Shea Weber
Vezina: Philipp Grubauer (SJ)

2019/2020 Pre Season

Notes
Just a note, Necas just scored 100 points this season, but he's allowable on my team as those stats don't influence this game stats*

Goals are going back up league wide, average of 8.3 last four years after nearly 20 years of 7.8

Draft

I have 6th pick thanks to the Devils, i want Stutzle, Jarvis Raymond or Byfield. No player from now on in i think hits the 100 points for Attack, or 85 as a defender.

1)Sanderson-Det
2)Stutzle-Fla
3)Byfield-Nash
4)Beniers-Pitt
5)Doan-Vegas
6)Raymond-NYR
7)Johnson-Ott
8)Power-Tampa
9)Jarvis-NYR
12)Askarov-NYR

Get two of the players i'm after and an excellent goalie, now i trade Weber for picks, and replace with Heiskanen. All my youngster will have to wait another year in AHL, no one obvious to demote and under cap this. To make the game more interesting i give him to Colorado for 2 picks. They'll be a force as he's still a 5 star defender. Columbus get Duclair for their original pick for next years pick.
