Markus, wishing you the very best. Still remember finding Season Ticket 2 at either Best Buy or Office Depot. I had pretty much quit playing baseball sims at this point in my life. Well I was hooked from the very first inning of Season Ticket I played. My Nephew also bought the game. Till this very day, we refuse to call Randy Johnson, Randy Johnson. To us, he will always be Hoyler Jones. I would be afraid to know the amount of time I've spent in hours playing your great creation over the years. I can honestly say that I enjoy OOTP baseball way more than I do the real thing these days. So, as Ray Davies said, I thank you for the Days, those endless days the sacred days you gave me.

Wow. I still can't believe this is happening. Right after Thanksgiving. Thank you, Markus and good luck in all that you do. Best baseball sim ever.

Sad to see you go. OOTP is a remarkable achievement and to think it was just you early on makes it eve more impressive. Best wishes to you in future projects and hoping the OOTP team can maintain your vision going forward.

Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey.

PS: Here's how it all started:
Dear Markus,

Wow.

I'm at lost for words.

I've been playing OOTP since 2003 and have been a part of the OOTP community since 2004, over 20 years. So much has happened in my personal life over the past 20 years but what has been constant in my life has been is OOTP and having you Markus at the head of the team. As I stated before I was fortunate to have met some of the OOTP members of the team including Andreas at a meet and greet back in 2012.

I am sad to see you leave but am excited for the opportunities that will be presented to you. Thanks for over 20 years of providing me with so much enjoyment. I wish you all the best. Please don't be a stranger around these parts.

Warmest Regards,

Russell aka Ashantewarrier

Thank you, Markus. For everything. The joy it has brought me - brought to many of us - is incalculable. Beyond words. I'm forever grateful.

Enjoy whatever the next chapter of your life has in store for you. New adventures await...

Noooooooooooooooo.

Is there an "unretire lead developer" function in OOTP?

Congratulations, Markus.

You have built an incredible game and wonderful community.

Your work is pure genius.

Thank You.

Wow. Just wow.

Hi Markus,

The words above in the post title are direct quotes from me the first day I spent in this immersive world into which you have devoted your genius and hard work for all these years! 2020 (when I started) is barely a breath ago in my 71 years of life, but it brought to me a daily habit that grew into a daily obsession. All out of the efforts of you and your team. Mere words are insufficient to thank you for all the enjoyment you have brought me through this creation of yours!

Heartfelt thanks and congratulations for this cumulative piece of software that will always have your handprints all over it, whether or not you are "on the team".

And more heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to have been lucky enough to be part of the first expansion of the "stream team"! I had a blast in those 20 months (to the day!) I was active online, and, even though my online presence has been greatly reduced due to much needed priority changes in my life, I can still manage to at least attend to day-to-day maintenance of my daily passion of playing Perfect Team!

Nothing but the very best to you and yours as you navigate the future!

I've been lurking around here on and off for 22 of those years, and you definitely left your current team with plenty of room to grow the OOTP legacy. This game has helped me keep my sanity in the last few years, so I'm definitely grateful for the work you put in.

Aufwiedersehen, mein guter Freund.

Thank you so very much for a magnificent and fantastic game!
I started with APBA in 1954.
As a teenager I used to dream about a game that would keep stats and standings.
I typed my standings on an old worn-out Underwood typewriter that would print
in red and black. Mine was worn out. It would only print in red. Plus I was a bad typist, too.

My dreams came true in 2003 when I discovered your wonderful creation.
I think I bought it on a CD. I think it was called Season Ticket Baseball.
I wish you nothing but green lights and blue skies in your life.
May the Good Lord bless and keep you and your family.
May the Good Lord bless the OOTP Development Team and all of the
OOTP Community.
May you be blessed abundantly in your future endeavors.

Don't be a stranger. Come and post here occasionally and keep us updated on your life.

I've spent many thousands of hours playing your games since OOTP 5 when I first learned of OOTP. Thanks for the incredible game and for always being willing to listen to ideas and input from the community. I hope whatever you do going forward, it's something you share with the world because you have an incredible gift for turning the mundane into something magical.
