Fictional Japanese Teams

A good reason for me to not make uniforms is that I'm always tinkering with the logos after I post them. I think our cat friend looks a little better with some whiskers

one more - they can't be pre-cursed in a fictional league. Maybe this is the right name theoretically this O should make for a cat's eye hat

This one is combined from my first idea - this Yokohama manhole cover, depicting the bay bridge - and a Blue Whales logo that someone requested (but then never said whether they liked or not... )


So the Pilots is the first idea, and then my preferred Blue Whales, the one I will use. Either can be a minor league team or independent.


This leaves only Hiroshima, and, well, since I did a Kyoto team, probably I'll look to do three more cities, to get up to a 16 team league

Okay, catching up now that I'm back from honeymoon (hi!).

• Love the Kitakyushu Kites identity. That may work its way into the JPBO if players ever do a league expansion; the Kumamoto Rovers could easily use a local farm team.
• The font you use for the Tokyo Bullets is great! Is it publicly available somewhere?
• Again, you mirror [LEAGUE REDACTED] where there was a real team named the Robins. They merged with the club in Yokohama early in the 1950s.
• Using the stars from Hokkaido and Sapporo in the Duelists logo is very clever. Also the name is a nice wink to the real club.
• The Curses uniforms are legitimately fantastic - likely because they hew close to the actual [Western railway company felines] uniforms they wore a few seasons ago which are classic in every way.
• You can just ZIP all the images together and post that along with an in-game preview, that's what I do. If you're using eriqjaffe's Uniform Creator, you can export pants alone by using the menu bar.
• What is it about Yokohama and whales? The team that plays there now used to be called that, and I aped Hartford's graphic design for my JPBO club there.

Thank you for this comment, it meas a lot. Your oblique references in your thread were my main source of inspiration for this league, along with Wikipedia and gaijinbaseball's videos. That's how I found about the Robins and Whales - and why I was annoyed to have missed Tombow.

The Bullets font is called techo race (I made the T elongated).

I'll have to try a Kites uniform with the vertical early 20th century text

Ok, so, I made this mouse and I love this mouse.

It's based on an old Brother Elephants logo, but I drew the mouse head and modified the rest.



The real team in Hiroshima is named after an unassuming, resilient animal, and its colors and cap logo are based on the Cincinnati Reds. And their main logo is a batting manga character.


So here is a Hiroshima team with colors and cap based on the Phillies, and a pitching character. (Also, their vintage script with stars resembles the Phillies script and stars)

Alternate name, the Hiroshima High Hopes or just Hopes. ~Ganbare!~

edit: I think the High Hopes is their minor league team

these are based on the "ill" logo based off the Phillies script that was very popular about ten years ago and you still see everywhere in Philly.

That's 12 teams, plus one extra (Kyoto Robins) all based on the league that plays baseball in Japan, but does not appear in this computer game.

1. hear people's thoughts on these concepts and where they could be improved
2. take a break from this project
3. add three more expansion team options
4. make more uniforms
5. make a league logo/ identity
6. improve a couple, especially Saitama

this is an attempt to merge the Phillies road uniform with this throwback Hiroshima uniform. I only made a road uniform because 1. all uniforms I make are tests/not confident in them, and 2. the team name is ridiculous. It should really have the mouse mascot, but someone else might probably think the team should be Hiroshima Stars or Heroes or something.



So the road uniform solves this by having the city name and the mouse as a sleeve patch. On the other sleeve, I put the team's founding date, 49, to match the Phillies' old sleeve numbers.

the zip file should have all the pants, extra files, the font, and a red hat

I forgot to mention that the Hiroshima [Fish]'s mascot, [Cleverly], is basically the Phillie Phanatic, which is how I ended up with a Phillies theme for the Mice. Fanatics could be a team name for it, too, or for a Philly version.


Here is the train logo altered to be the Hiroshima Express, I flipped it over to make the longer word look better. Couldn't modify the H as much as I had done for the T, so I made one out of the little trains I made


for me this is now the Tokyo Bullets minor league team gotta look at a map or neighborhood list to see if there's something that begins with H around there. I really like this little train H

My drawings of Steller's sea eagles... as far as I am going to get with this concept at this time. Slowly these will improve and be less detailed and more like logos. This one can be used until then


Probably the small head should just be the main logo. I couldn't figure out how to get words on it without it looking weird to me as a roundel

These are amazing 20, absolutely among my favourites. Not sure I have room for another Japanese team but this gorgeous logo makes it mighty tempting

I'm using it to replace the Sapporo Duelists logo from earlier in this thread. I'll probably redo that one. I like the sword with tape on it that I made but the font and colors of that one have come to annoy me.

I already used this as the Baltimore Swans, but here is a Niigata version in the city's mon colors (their soccer team is swan-themed, and there's a big birding lake near there). In case someone wants another option for a expansion or minor or independent Japanese team, and in case I come up with something better for myself for Baltimore.
