Ron Fairly in 1977 import, age 38, had played mainly at 1st base the last few seasons, has too good LF/CF/RF ratings 70/55/65 and 60 to 65 range and arm ratings. AI uses him as OF

To confirm, this was a manual import of just this player? What were the fielding rating import settings on that import pop-up (the one where you put his ID, year, etc.) Or was this a league in 1977 in which case the settings can be found on the historical tab (advanced settings)? If a league, let us know that setting for fielding. thx!

Relative to expectations, 3-year may work better for you. As a surgical fix, you can always remove the experience there in the player editor and it will be fine until the next recalc. You can also adjust the fielding setting for imports before the next recalc and see if that adjusts players going forward.

Has NEVER been an issue in the past. By the way as a default, MLB Common Draft (referred to as Rookie Draft) was conducted the second week in June from 1969 until 2020(the Covid Year) when it was moved to July. Pet peeve of mine.

not a big deal but Pete Rose and Billy Williams are both listed incorrectly in the uni number file so their numbers don't load correctly. Rose is under rosepe02 and should be rosepe01 and Williams is under willibi02 and should be under willibi01.

Markus, I have always changed the draft date to June, and NEVER had draft issues. Been playing OOTP since 2005. Has ANYONE else besides the two of us here had an issue. I think it is a bug.

I had the draft for Dec 20th or whatever the general default is... and I tried different dates for the reveal but they were all well in advance (like 90 or 120 days) so I could try seeing the pool early before continuing with the sim.

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but when I am importing my old games, if the game was started as Historical, I am getting an error saying it can't connect to the Historical Database.
I am running on a Mac, if that makes any difference.

Or in one of the games that won't move over, does it point to a different drive (mine is a Windows FastSpring default installation so a mac will vary but the contents shouldn't). As I think I said on another thread, that's the kind of message for something mis-pointed or looking for a custom db (like Spritze's old one) that is manually chosen when creating a game.

If it still fails or is definitely pointed to the right place, I'd go to settings at the main start screen, troubleshooting, force a reinstall (in case the odb file installation got borked or blocked by some internal mac blocker or over aggressive protection software).

It ISN'T the same place, due to me being on a Mac, I assume. (But it is consistent. Same basic location, but Mac's use 'Container' files for stuff like this.)
So do I manually change that? I checked and the in-game DB that the imported game (in v25) says it is pointing to is OOTP25. Should I re-point it to 24? It should update to the new version of the DB on import, no?

Keep it pointing to 25 - but you want to ensure the .odb file is 1) there 2) named correctly (consistently) and 3) wasn't borked on install. If the 24 file is named different that means it is looking for something different though.
So for example, if I made a game with a db where I changed something or was a mod and then forgot that I did that, I loaded, in that historical game, a db named something different. That's why I wanted to see the contents of the 24 stats file.
