Disappointing Ending
Mets failed to make the playoffs, squandering golden opportunity on final day of the season.
A game back of the Padres for the second wild-card, the Mets got an assist from the Dodgers, who dropped San Diego, leaving the door ajar for the Amazins to grab a win and force a play-in game. That never materialized as the Marlins spoiled that chance by blanking the Mets, 8-0, in an embarrassing conclusion to the 2020 season. The Mets finished 83-79. |
