There really aren't that many to be aware of.

I'm bored. When my post count dropped to 11 I felt like a child again. I broke out in hives, and my left leg fell off.

I'm up into the 30's now in posts and already I'm starting to feel better.

Actually, in SI they had a Keischnick tracker, and near the end of spring he had an ERA of 2.00 and he was batting .400 I believe

Good Story...trust me

Brockton, MA is home of the Brockton Rox, a minor league team that took the field for the first time last season and is now a member of the Northeastern League.

Before the Rox took the field, they practiced on Stonehill College's baseball field. Well, there was a rumor that one of the players hit a shot that hit the Sports Complex on one bounce. The Sports Complex is a good 600 feet away from homeplate...so we are talkin about a 500+ foot shot here. The next day or so, the Chicago White Sox signed him just before the kid could get the chance to play an official game for the New Minor League team. This was all just a rumor though and nothin really escalated from there.

FAST FORWARD TO THIS WEEK

I love baseball so I interviewed for an internship with the Brockton Rox for this summer. I got the job and started on Monday. It's great and I'm having fun there. Well, I was doing my work while talkin to one of the guys there and he bring up this story about Kieschnick. He mentions how he was called up by the Brewers and pitched the other night. The reason they cared is because he "played" for the Brockton Rox last season and if the guy is successful it kinda gives the Rox a place in minor league baseball - ya know a team that "developed/recognized" a star. So I'm thinkin, "kool, that's great."

He extends the story and talks about how Kieschnick wanted to pitch and hit. He was gonna get that chance with the Rox but couldn't because the White Sox signed him just before he got the chance to officially play for the team. The whole time I'm just listening and not really paying attention to the name or the rumor that was spreading around my school. Then finally he brings up the 500+ foot myth and immediately I'm like, "WAIT! This is the guy!? Kieschnick is the guy? He is the myth? OMG! That's so kool!"

So basically this whole time Kieschnick was playing on a field near me last summer and I never knew it. THen this guy was talkin about him for a good 10 minutes and I never realized that we had spoken about him here on this board and that he was the one that filled the myth.

I just thought I share that b/c it makes the myth true, which is kool, and well I work for the Brockton Rox now and I wanna kinda help them out.

Thanks for reading!

He's probably spent about 150-160 days on a big league roster, maybe even more. I bet he's made over $100,000 for those 113 major league games, and about $5 for all those years in the minors.

As for Ross Gload, I hate to see him out of Colorado... he might have hit .200 there!

Please send all of your 4A hitters to Detroit. They have to be better then what we have here right now. Thanks
