What do others thing about WAR and fWAR and how it relates to OOTP?

I recall many saying that when it came to pitchers that fWAR is the best metric and I found that to be true in my historical replays. But Im not seeing that for hitters or pitchers in PT.
It's hard to compare PT to real baseball because the quality of competition is way higher. If Jason deGrom had to face Mookie Betts every single batter, they'd both have much worse stats than they do IRL.

He didn't hit his well-known playoff home run against the Braves until 2005. In '04 he was just a first-round draft pick and big time prospect expected to replace Kent/Biggio at 2B one day. I figure that would at least garnish him an 80 overall rating based on 'Future Legends'. Kind of like how Kyle Tucker has a higher overall than George Springer.
That image... those are ratings I'd picture a college player having. There should be an understanding that if you don't have a contact of at least 35, you wouldn't be able to make it to the major leagues as a position player.

I understand that PT needs some sawdust to scatter on the floor of PT, but IMO they'd be better off using AA and AAA players for that purpose than historical guys.

ofc, I'm not sure how licensing works with the minors. They're not in the players union yet so OOTP might not have the right to use them.

There are plenty of Future Legend cards who are minor league players who have never been in the majors so I doubt they have that issue.

But the Future Legends are notoriously overrated though.
