Another month gone and we get to see how our future stars are doing.
Kelford Clark has had an excellent month in the Florida League with the Lakeland Flying Tigers. He has 6 starts and racked up a 5-1 record during the month. His ERA is down at 1.43 and he is averaging 6 strike outs a game while allowing no more than 6 hits and 2 or 3 runs a game. This strong work saw him voted the FSL Pitcher of the month above other more experienced players. Donnie Green has been slowly improving in July. He played 27 games during July and posted a batting average of .253. The last day of the month saw him have a break out game as he struck 6 hits from 7 at bats in the GCL Philadelphia West's win over the Yankees East. Juan Campos has had a tough start in the Mexican league after his call up to the first team. He has played in 16 games for the Diablos but is batting at .148 for his average this year after going cold towards the end of the month. Gabriel Eskola has been finding things tough in the North West League with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. He suffered the twisted ankle which hindered his play. This limited him to 18 games only. He also went through a cold patch once he returned from the injury. This has meant his batting average is down at .192 for July. Dan Hurt has been the hot bat from the players that are currently in action. His July with both the GCLPhiladelphia West and GCL Philadelphia East teams has seen him hitting at an average of .383. This form could see him moved up if he keeps it up. After joining the Colorado Rockies we have finally seen Billy Edwards get some playing time. He has spent the month of July with the Dominican Rockies and has managed to bat at an average of .263 from 15 games. Hopefully there will be more to come from Billy. It has been a quiet month at the agency so far in August. All our current players playing are getting game time and doing what is expected of them. The middle of the month now gets busy again as our Cuban office cranks into gear with the Cuban draft. Luis Elizonda is the player the office picked to represent. We are hoping for a high draft spot for him before we work hard for his first contract in Cuban baseball.
It was excellent news for Luis as he went first overall in the Cuban draft. He was selected by the Pinar Del Rio Vegueros. Hopefully the office in Cuba will be quick with the deal so he can get down to some serious baseball playing. |

It didn't take long for the Cuban office to come to a deal for Elizonda. He signed a 1 year Cuban Major League contract worth US $1,500 and joins their team ready for spring training to start later in the year.
The day was also busy in the Korean Office as they checked up on In-Su Chu. He was eagerly anticipating the Korean draft pool announcement, hoping to make it in. He not only made the pool he was also listed as the 7th top prospect for the draft. The draft will take place on the 15th of September. Luis Elizondo new card |

There have been no new call ups as our lads continue their playing careers.
Kelford Clark has had a tough month in August as his pitching tailed off over the month. He had 1 win and 2 losses from 6 game starts. His ERA took a big jump upwards as he went for 5.22 during August and also gave up 17 earned runs in the inning he pitched. His strike rate stayed steady with another 34 in August. Donnie Green had a steady month in August as he hit for .238 as an average over the 16 games he played in. He got a couple more home runs, score a total of 7 runs and bought in another 8. Juan Campos continued his tough times in the Mexican Leagues for Mexico Diablos Rojos. He hit at an average of only .171 for August. While this is up on his July figure he still had a long cold patch in the middle of the month. He is up to 4 home runs and a total of 11 runs for his year. Gabriel Eskola has seen some improvement in his play for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes but he still had his cold moments early in the month of August. The month as a whole saw him hit for .219 with 20 runs scored. He has not yet hit a home run this year. Dan Hurt continues to be the hot bat from our players. His August monthly stats show him down on July but still well up on the others. He hit for an average of .337 in August along with 4 home runs with 17 in total. He bought home another 22 in RBI's for August. Billy Edwards continues to see his strong figures in the Domincan Rookie League. His month of August saw him hit for .305 with a home run and 7 runs scored in total. Luis Elizonda joined the Cuban League with the Pinar Del Rio Vegueros but their league does not start until the 15th of November so he is still a long way off starting his playing career. Here are the current Major League tables going into the crucial September month with the Mexican League coming to its play offs on the 6th of September. MLB Japan |

With all of our players teams out of play off contention and not much movement upwards. We will bring you the end of season player cards once all of the current seasons are complete.
The only real work we have had at the agency this month is the Korean first year player draft. In-Su Chu was our player in the draft and it was quick and painless for him as he went as the first pick by the KT Wiz team. He signed a minor league contract with the KT Wiz that was very easy to negotiate as we were not looking for any signing bonus. He has been assigned to the Korean Futures league with the Iksan Wiz team. He will not play a game until next season as the Korean Futures League season has completed but here is his player card |

There was some movement for Luis Elizondo as he was invited to the spring training camp of the Pinar Del Rio Vegueros. Hopefully he will be able to make the first team squad for the up coming season.

The Japanese draft pool was announced today.
Both Shiroma Hisato and Nishikiri Shoda are listed in the draft pool but neither have made the top ten so it will be interesting to see where they are drafted. |

Today sees the start of the Cuban League with Luis Elizondo looking to get some good playing time. He managed to get into 29 games during spring training with 17 starts. It wasn't enough to get into the first team but hopefully he will progress and make the line up at some point during the year.
Today also saw the Japanese first year player draft with Shiroma Hisato and Nishikiri Shoda both looking to make the grade. It didn't take long for Shiroma Hisato to get called as he went as the number 1 pick in the draft. He was selected by the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Nishikiri Shoda had to wait until the 4th selection before he was chosen. Saitama Seibu Lions made him their first choice in this years draft. The Japanese office will now be looking to get both players signed up for their clubs. Here are there cards |

December has been a quiet month with very little for us to do at the World Baseball Agency.
Luis Elizondo has some good news when he was promoted from the reserve squad to the main squad of the Pinar Del Rio Vegueros on the 15th of December. He played in 5 games in December with a batting average of .375 from 16 at bats over those 5 games. All other players and teams are currently in the off season. One piece of good news is the fact that we have managed to expand and bring on board the Texas office. The month of January again saw very little in the way of activity for most of our players.
The end of the month saw the MLB, Mexican and Japanese players head to pre season work outs. We will bring you their updated cards once their respective spring training schedules start. The only player in action is Luis Elizondo in the Cuban League. He played in 12 games during the month of January but his production fell away markedly. In the games he played he hit for .146 with only 6 hits all month. We are still searching for players to represent out of our new Texas office and are still accepting applications. Cuban Tables |
