The top prospect list was published.
#1 is Mark McGwire of the Rangers. Toronto got one in the top ten, Chris Clark, playing 3rd in Cornwall, is at #8. That is good, but he is also out only prospect in the Top 100. Our system is ranked as the 14th best in the bigs. The Rangers are #1.

Nolan Ryan could get through six, but not because he pitched poorly. He did not allow a run but got gassed from throwing so many pitches as ELEVEN of his seventeen outs were strikeouts. Aaron Wilson struck out four more as the Jays beat Cleveland 6-1. Denny Walling went 3 for 4. Tony Gwynn sprained his ankle legging out a triple. Reports are that he just needs to rest in for a couple of days. WP - Nolan Ryan (1) Save - Aaron Wilson (1) LP - Tim Leary (0-1) Record - 2-0

It is a bit of a homecoming as the Jays claimed Mike Parrott off waivers from the Giants.
He pitched for Toronto from 1977 to 1980. He joins the Jays and Bill Gray is reassigned to AAA. Ron Guidry is back int he rotation where he belongs. Parrott goes to the pen. The team is very deep.

WP - Antonio Gonzalez (1-0) LP - David Palmer (0-2) Record - 5-0 Boston is the last winless team in the bigs.
