The White Sox are 25-7

Aside from Jack Fournier (.402 BA) the Sox are getting some pretty good pitching from this guy.

Game 32

Looks like the White Sox can't lose (6 game winning streak) but the second place Senators finally did (losing to Cleveland 7-4). Chicago has won 6 straight and the Tigers 4 in a row. The Tigers play the A's on Sunday and then have 4 big games with Washington at Navin Field.

Game 33

The Tigers finish off the hapless A's and now await the Senators who have dropped into 3rd place a half game behind the streaking (5) Tigers. The White Sox have a 7 game win streak going and lead the second place Tigers by 7 games.

May 25 Standings

The answer to the question posed above by Cobb is, yes they won. As the viewers can see that White Sox club is trying to run away with things. However, the Tigers are keeping them in sight.

Game 34

Coveleski gave the Tigers a CG win as they had this game in hand pretty much from the beginning. 12 runners stranded on the base paths made it closer than what it should have been. Cobb went 1 for 4 dropping his B.A. to .373. For the Senators Chick Gandil went 2 for 3 to up his average to .376.

What does it take to beat this guy, anyway?

Is what the Babe must be thinking. No wonder the White Sox never lose with a pitcher like this guy on the hill.

Game 35

Danny Moeller (WAS) led off the game with an inside the park homer and that proved to be the difference as the Senators put an end to the Tiger 6 game winning streak at Navin Field today. Bob Gallia goes to 4-2 while Pug Cavet takes the loss for Detroit.

Game 36

Tiger Donnie Bush returned the favor of the previous game as this time he lead off the Detroit first inning with an inside the park homer, his first four bagger of the season. Veach tallied another inside the park job giving the Tigers a total of 3 homers, or one every 12 games.

And, on the south side of Chicago the Yankees out hit the Sox 12 to 7 but a 5 run rally in the 8th was enough to give the White Sox a 7-3, and their 9th in a row. They lead the 2nd place Tigers by 9. Will anyone catch them?

Game 37

Despite some bravado from the Tiger CF the Chicago White Sox have now won 10 in a row and lead the American League with a 30-7 record, 8 games ahead of Detroit. The two teams will go head to head after the st. Louis Brown series. The White Sox lead the series 4-3. But, we're getting ahead as Detroit took a big game from Walter 'Big Train' Johnson today and had to rally from two runs down to do it. Johnson is now 5-4.

The Tigers had numerous chances to win this game in St. Louis but with 11 ducks left on the pond they dropped the first of the two game set.

Standings at the end of May

The Yankees are fading but both Sox teams are doing well with Chicago still tearing it up and on a 10 game run.

Game 39

The Tigers went extra frames to beat the Browns and will leave town and arrive in Chicago in time for a DH against the streaking Sox who have won 11 in a row. It's a 4 game set with 2 on Tues and single games Wed and Thurs.

Game 40 (first game of DH)

May 31

It's amazing how many runs you can score when you bang out 5 triples, 3 of them with the bases juiced. Will the White Sox who lead both the Red Sox and Tigers come down to earth now that their winning streak is over? Stay tuned for game 2 of the DH.

May 31, Game 2 of the DH

A pair of first inning 3 baggers, this time by the Sox including a bases clearing one by Bunny Brief and this one was over just like that. Reb Russell with the W is now 9-1.

Game 42

The Tigers open up June with a W in the 3rd game of the series with the American League leading Chicago White Sox. Despite an error and 4 walks in the 7th it was a relatively easy win for Detroit who now moves into sole possession of 2nd place 7.5 GB Chicago. One more game in the series and then it's the Yanks.
