create historical league (i picked 1921) - import historical minor leagues.
(when i click on page to create new game, these leagues are available ... MLB, PCL, Negro national League, Texas League.

what year are you creating your league in? If it's after 1948 or before 1920, there will be no Negro Leagues as they don't come into the game until 1920 and they fold in 1948 after the game.

in my 1921 game set-up - go to historical tab, and you can select use random rookies form all eras. This will bring players from all eras. If you have minor leagues checked, i am thinking it will also bring in the negro League players at random, as it should all minor leaguers - even if they have disbanded - because they should be in the MiLB data base. But i haven't tested it, so that's an assumption. But you won't get the "Negro Leagues" as a league unless your league creation is between 1920 and 1948. They just don't exist beyond that in the game.

Sorry if i am misunderstanding your design. But from what i do understand, i believe the historical tab to bring in players of all eras, along with real historical minors, is the only way i know it will work for certain. If i am incorrect, anyone feel free to correct. best of luck.

The league shown below in my signature uses Spritze's High School DB. I have been inactive with the that dynasty for some time and I am going to start a new one using OOTP18.

The point is, using Spritze's DB, Negro League players (and others) are in each year's amateur draft pool.

For example:

1939: Julio Moreno - Cuban National League
1938: Dan Bankhead - Negro Leagues
1938: Jiro Noguchi - Nippon Pro Baseball
1938: Tex Sanner - Career minor league player
1931: Ray Dandridge - Negro Leagues
1930: Roy Partlow - Negro Leagues

Turn off the color barrier and all but the Asians will be in the game automagically and available in the draft..

There are a bunch of major, like top 50 - 100, Negro League facegens in the big facegen download that's connected with the game.

They are pretty good but need some work to look comparable to the typical facegens.

I have made some in past but negro leaguers are hard because of the lack of quality photos.

No they arent. This is something I was hoping for too. In fact, all minor leaguers are not available for custom leagues. The only work around at this point is to manually import the negro leaguers each year as rookies for the draft.

Is there a way to create a league of today's teams use rookies from all eras randomly debut and including negro league players in that? So guys like Satchel Paige will show up much younger than they debuted in MLB.

The only way to do that (I think) is to import the players that you want from the minor league database (which I believe contains Negro Leaguers, PCL guys, career minor leaguers, ***, KBO, whatever Chinese Taipei's leagues are called etc etc). There is a way to batch import them, but as I've never done it I'll defer to someone else's expertise with regards to that. In other words, you can't play random debut and have players come in automatically from both databases at the same time.

Which sucks because that was my entire reason for buying this version. Heck I was still playing 16 up until last week but potentially having a Negro League and a color barrier in my fictional league was enough for me to buy the new version of the game.

I am re-posting this question for Spritze....

Spritze, won't your High School DB for OOTP17 achieve what everybody is asking for? It has Minor Leagues, Negro Leagues and Japanese Leagues.

Hey guys, I can understand you might be disappointed, but this isn't something we ever promised as a feature.

You're basically looking for an entirely new game mode that would be a massive new feature in and of itself.

Who knows, we might eventually be able to make it happen (though there are no promises) but we've had enough on our plates just getting the historical minors and Negro Leagues into the game at all over just two versions. That's taken an enormous amount of work, and been a big task on its own.

We'll surely keep making tweaks and adding historical minors and Negro League related features and improving them over time, but we had to start somewhere.

It should be possible to do this, it's just going to take some manual work.

You'd have to create a league with the Negro League teams you want, move them to one league so they're all together if they aren't already, then delete the other teams, leagues and players you don't want and save a template. Then import that template into your MLB teams from different eras league.

Rinse and repeat for other Negro League teams.

First, thank you so much for the minors and the negro league players.
Second, I know very little about programming so please do not take any of this the wrong way.
I used to play apba baseball for windows and they had a cd disk that had pretty much an encyclopedia of all the years of baseball that you could import into your baseball world.
They had some negro league teams 16 if I remember correctly but you could have multiple windows open and start a blank one and drag and drop whoever you wanted into your blank world.
Now I understand apba was probably a very simple animal compared to what you fine gentlemen are doing.
And this is the I do not understand coding part!
Why isn't there a huge database that we could simply open and drag and drop players into our world?
I hope I did not come off the wrong way I love this game and will be a lifetime customer and thank you again for this game.

Go to 'game settings' > 'available global actions' (the red button in the top right) and there's an option there to save the league as a template and also to import a template into the league.
