Always. Immediately.
I got more 'value' out of OOTP than virtually any other entertainment dollar I spend.

Preordered 1.5 seconds after I got the email. This is my third year (discovered the game with OOTP16), costs fifty bucks in Singapore where I live, best value for money of anything I buy, can't imagine not buying ever again.

pre-ordered as soon as I saw the OOTP tweet about the release. Became a prospect by winning the contest. So excited! Thanks for the great product, Markus and team.

I did...but it upsets me I do not have the will power to wait till the All Star break or end of season for the deep discount. I cannot think of any other software product I own that I want the devs to make more money from me

I just got the special deal on the v17 but I did order the v18 because of all the seasons and WBC. I still have not figured out the full game but am trying, my problem is my W7 freezes up on the game. I have been playing S-O-M since the 60's and will always play it but don't have the freeze problem with it. I am going to buy another pc soon and it will be a w10. I hope the feeze changes on my new pc.

I don't remember when Markus started giving a pre-order discount but I have not missed a year since he began. My relationship with OOTP began in 2000 and has lasted for the length of the 21st century. If someone asks me about my hobbies, they had better be prepared for a half hour explanation of how fantastic OOTP is, and how this game has enriched my life.

Sometimes I preorder, and sometimes I wait. This year I preordered, since I put over 250 hours in this year. I'm hoping for 19th century support and continued development of the historical minors feature.

I did. Seeing what changes, enhancements and improvements to the 3D display is what I am most looking forward to.

I did as soon as I had some extra money. I really love this game. It has seen me through some dark times and has given me something to escape from reality with.

Pre ordered on final pre order date. Definitely interested in the playoff and tournament enhancements after watching team USA.

The only negative thing about OOTP17 is the game recaps... they are really poor and need to be worked on... fortunately, I write my own recaps, so it's not a problem for me... but for the gamers who like good news stories, they really, really come up short... I would prefer not to have the game write recaps if they are going to be so poorly done. To support Markus and the Team, I have always waited and paid the full price... but I will get it right after its release date. Do you think Markus would prefer that we buy it early at the discount rate? Last edited by Eugene Church; 03-24-2017 at 12:26 AM. |

I see where someone posted that the game recaps in OOTP18 have been reworked and have more variety... that is great news.
This was posted recently by gglennwill: Kudos on the 3D, write up improvements! I just downloaded the game on Steam, imported my leagues and played my first game. I have to give kudos on the improvement in the 3D. To be honest, I never used 3D in OOTP 17 as it was still too klunky and was way off of the play by play. I used 3D in my first game with 18. Wow! The movements were fluid and natural, whether it be baserunning or fielding. It was much more exciting to follow the action than in 17. I didn't see the crowd moving but I was using historical fields so that's probably why. I'm switching to 3D mode from now on. Also, I haven't heard anyone comment on the automatic write-ups for each game; they have definitely improved. I see more variety, and more focus on records, stats and achievements of both the teams and the players. Plus there is just more variety. So Kudos to Marcus and the whole team; you continue to deliver a product that just gets better and better! Last edited by Eugene Church; 03-24-2017 at 04:01 PM. |

I did ... as I did for the past 7 years.
The dilemma is - I pre-order as soon as I get the mail to support the game, but I probably should not and give the guys a few more well-deserved bucks by buying for the regular price
