yeah walks hurt offensive numbers if too high. there seems to be a happy medium to it, when i've done something similar.

i never reduced eye to 0, but ~120+ is ok - those guys will get to 40 and above, just not as often as the 0 eye guy. as far as hitting streaks, it likely hurts that, but you'll get way more hr, hits, rbi, 2b if eye/patience isn't too high. after experiencing this, i tend to look for 3-4-5 guys (a "raker's" role) without the 150/200 (full scale) plus eye ratings, if nothing special is available or in the pipeline. obviously with a crazy talented player i take the high Eye ratings without any hesitation.

i've seen normal players reach 40+ on AI teams. one of them was barely an above average hitter, too. i think i had one player hit 4hr once too, and he wasn't that good of a player either. when the probability gets to small that anyone doing it is like winning the lottery, maybe the difference in probabilities for each player gets a little smaller. (in real life i'd expect it to be proportional (simply, if 3x more likely to get a hit, 3x more likely to get 40 in a row), but who knows how the math is at that extreme in the game and all the other little factors they model).

EDIT: your LTM/LT will be the major factor if you see these less likely things occur at rates others do not. if your league's slash is a .280BA you are going to have a higher probability of seeing a longer hitting streak. if you keep the HR as 4900 for modern mlb, you are going to see a ton of 50hr guys. i always complain that 4900 is too high for hr.,.. the only time slugging hovers around that figure is when PEDs are rampant. looks like there may be another disigner steroid that can pass the blood test. if the league hits ~.420 slugging again in 2017 it's going to be obvious. it's usually a ~5% increase, or so, almost like clockwork. you can't hide from statistical analysis if the entire league is abusing them. ootp must be considering this likelihood, lol. i must admit it's pretty naive of me to think that it's been stopped and will stop for good (ped abuse).
