International leagues and historical minors. The ability to play one historical team in a series against another is pretty cool as well.
I don't play 3-D, don't want to play 3-D, won't ever play it unless forced. I just don't see the need. Facegen and mods are great - I make baseball cards after every season, and it helps with the immersion, especially in fictional leagues - but other than that, the "bells and whistles" stuff isn't really that high on my list. |

I've bought ootp every year for probably 5 years I think it's been. Every year about a month I keep interested and then get away from it(I like to play every game). I've never even made it to the all star game before this year(I'm at game 110). Lol.
I say this because I can definetly say that 3d has been what's kept my attention this year. I don't even read much of the play by play stuff. Biggest thing for me I'd like is improvements to the trading system. Its really bothersome right now. I get offered the worst trades daily. Honestly the AI is pretty intelligent when it comes to deciding whether or not my offers are good but that's about it. Its frustrating to basically get shut down by the computer and then see them do some serious boneheaded trade with another CPU controlled team that it would never have accepted from me. I dunno I don't see many other people complaining about trade ai so maybe I have something set up wrong but as it is for me it's really the only thing that's holding the game back from being absolutely phenomenal. |

I think pretty much everyone feels the same about trades. Everyone has their own way of working around the trade AI shortcomings. I think the unfortunate truth is that the concept trading is just too FUZZY for the AI to ever be really good at it. At the end of the day, the computer has to boil things down to a calculation that says do the trade or not. And there are so many components to that decision. Players' past performance. Players' future performance. The teams' overall depth charts. Scout's opinions, contracts, money, team needs, etc. If any one of these things is slightly "off", the AI can end up making a trade that seems unrealistic to a human. At the end of the day, the AI has a REASON for making a trade. You just don't agree that it is a good reason.

Fielding coaches because my outfielders seem to act like idiots when it comes to fielding even with the highest infield rating

Perhaps you are playing your infielders in the outfield? (Sorry, just busting your chops there. )

We wouldn't have it any other way....
![]() I guess I don't consider the simulation having changed that much. The game has always (or at least for a very long time) provided good output in terms of players and stats. I guess adding MLB rosters is a big deal too. That's more non-eye-candy based. Can I change my answer to that...

I've turned off alerts for trade proposals, I assume they are all garbage. Every once in a while there's one that is confusingly decent, and I'm always highly suspicious of it.

My favorite new feature is definitely the game recaps.
Tops on my wishlist would be an improved arbitration process. Currently it seems the only way to avoid arbitration is to offer a one year extension. This is a problem because sometimes you don't have money for extensions and sometimes the player will not settle for one year even if he's not in the final arb year. You should be able to see what dollar amount the player files for like irl and be able to come to an agreement to avoid arb. |

Favorite addition so far is Facegen. Hands down.
Top items on my Wishlist are expanded coaching staff (base coaches) and improved associations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Favourite addition: historical minors
Biggest wish: negro leagues... and then WBC.

I loved it when Spring Training rosters were expanded so we are now able to have promising minor leaguers and veteran free agents with minor league contracts invited to SP for a look-see. My wishlist would be the ability to schedule "B" games so more players can get more playing time. I would also add Spring Training goals for players added so they can work on specific areas to develop.
I also love the Historical Exhibition feature and would like a tournament feature added. Finally, a "print to file" feature would be nice.

What is you single favorite addition over the last few versions and what is #1 on your wishlist?

Seconded. I have always wanted OOTP to have the ability to define what areas you want a player to work on. Along time ago, there was some sports sim where you could do this. It might've been front-page sports football. So like, if you have a player who has solid contact and power numbers, but strikes out incessantly, it would be cool to have him focus on trying to improve that. Or to have a pitcher focus on developing an additional pitch or something.

Like with Game Strategy for each player the AI has a baseline from its evaluation and the player can adjust accordingly. Of course, focusing on an area and actually improving are two different things and it could happen that the player barely improves at all. We love that OOTP mirrors the unpredictable nature of real life.

Totally agree on all points. So people who don't want to touch it never have to. To this day I wish Madden's career mode was even 25% of what FPS was! (I heard Gray Dog who did Bowl Bound was coming out with a pro game, but I never found out if it happened. OOTP has a pro football game in the works too, but not sure of the status because the developer (not Markus) has/had serious health issues.)

And I'd like to add to the list of new faves: game recaps, esp the "at-a-glance" feature (key hits I think it's called?) that shows up below the win prob graph. Love being able to see quickly who won (or lost) you that game! |

TIL the standings screen now has an option to choose a date, so you can check out the standings as of any date.
When the heck did THAT get added?
