Justin Verlander makes me sad. Two years ago, the frequent Tigers day games were a treat. You either got JV, or Mister Fister, or Scherzer, or even Anibal Sanchez. Now it's all a mess.
Two more mess games for me this week

Ha, so much for hyping Nicasio...he was awful. Top of the Tiger lineup looks strong though! Hopefully they get it out of their system in the next 9 days before the Indians series

So sad. My friend just sent me a text, Paul Carey passed away. One of the all time best. Heaven now has one hell of a broadcast team. Ugh! We are getting old. Too many of my childhood heroes are passing.

The bullpen is really looking good. I am still skeptical about Rodriguez. An aging closer that doesn't throw gas has got to trend toward getting by on finesse and junk at some point. I don't like that equation.

Ian Kinsler cunningly missed an easy popup on purpose | For The Win
This was pretty cool; I saw it live. It only got confusing on the broadcast because the announcers didn't understand the rule. Kinsler sure did. :-)

Continued good offense, bullpen did well again. It's just tough to overcome a start like that.

b) I'm not sure why that was a big deal. Sure, Rasmus is faster than White I would guess. But it's not THAT big of a deal. The WPA difference of this play is probably like 0.0001. c) Like a lot of life, there is a slippery slope here. If this becomes the routine play (i.e. the defense starts choosing which runners it prefers), they will just institute infield fly for all situations. I guess it gives us something to talk about anyway. |

However low my expectations of Pelfrey were; I overestimated him.

This is hard to watch. Inning and a third, 5 hits, 3 walks.

Two incredible plays by Iglesias or this could easily be 6-0 rather than 1-0. Can't keep dodging bullets like this.

Pelfrey is just awful. Man do we need Norris to get healthy. Right now, we better win when the first 3 pitch, because 4 and 5 are puss.

Tough day for starting pitcher health at Comerica. Though your pitcher being hurt might be a net gain. Ours certainly is not.
Surprised Miggy got rested today. I know he's a little cold at the moment, but still. Also surprised in general that the Tigers offense looked mortal this weekend. Expected a few more runs. |

Happy that I was on a Boy Scout camping trip and missed the last three days.

Cabrera also worthless. Glad he was "cold" in the Indians series. Oddly, his homers were in almost in the exact same spot.
Am I allowed to complain that Zimm doesn't K enough batters for my fantasy team? lol |
