Evaluation vs Pure Ratings Test:
Simple test by an admittedly simple player.

I am in the middle of a MLB sim. I was playing without the box ticked. I ticked the box in the middle of my season.

The results: no extra processing time immediately after making the change and there was no increase in trade or waiver traffic for the month that followed. That is there was no noticeable change in the way that the AI teams handled their rosters.

I believe that the feature only affects the way you see the ratings.

I appreciate the debate on this topic because I too was (and maybe still will be) confused about this option.

Did you run a rescout on the league? Just curious.

Also, would you be willing to perhaps run some Sims while you sleep perhaps? Maybe run 10 years with it one night on one set and then ten with the other set from the exact spot in the save the next night?

I greatly appreciate you testing at all, but if we got a significant amount of data it would be good for the discussion! I will probably do the same the next few nights.

Regardless, I am pretty sure all of us agree that the numbers for AI evaluation are the most important, anyway.

The main reason I started using it was to make sure I was seeing the same "type" of data the cpu was, if that makes any sense.

I did not run a rescout.

I will run that and see if there are any changes however I have moved ahead in the league since my 'test' and am currently at the tail end of the off-season. The new year has come and past (with new scouting) and there has still been no unordinary movement.

I am glad I made the click! I too enjoy seeing the data the same way the CPU 'sees' it. It is definitely different but I like it.

Cheers

The overall stars are what you the human sees when you view the players. By default they are based on pure ratings. The AI doesn't see "stars." The option is telling you that if enabled, the star ratings you see when you view the player are going to be based on the evaluation criteria that the AI uses, rather than the pure ratings. But the AI evaluation criteria is always that mix of ratings and stats that you see in the AI options.
Totally agree with you.
