Considering the pathetic state at the center position in the NBA, who is to say he wouldn't have more success. I great center, in Shaq, a couple of good ones and then power forwards and bums filling out the center position in the league. In the Stilt's time the level of talent at center was higher because the league was smaller.

Russell was better than Wilt.

80'S hoops is better than today's.

Jeter the leader is not overrated.

I don't think you can compare Kobe and MJ. The game has changed too much to make a valid comparision. The 80's game was team oriented and today is glorified one on one. I think Kobe would have been a good 80's player.

A superior scorer, not a superior shotblocker, free throw shooter, rebounder, champion and team leader. Chamberlain was a tour de force scoring. Russell had better teams. Russell was a better overall player by far than Wilt.

Bah, Russell was only superior as a defender, Chamberlain was better in every other category and as a scorer by a vast margin. Wilt is the best basketball player to play the game regardless of position as the NBA record book will attest.

Whatever, personally I'd take the Big O, Magic, Bird, MJ, Clyde, Russell anyday.

You are entitled to your wrong opinion.

If it were merely an opinion, then I'd be wrong.

As Chamberlain was 7'1, it would make little difference. Talent is far more important.

Edit: the finest rebounder of the last 20 years is Dennis Rodman at 6'8.

He did it once and could certainly do it once today.

What about Shawn Bradley, Ghorge Muresan? They were very tall, but they pretty much suck(ed).
