I'm going with the one that has Ohio and Michigan in it. But I need help with League names.
League 1: teams based in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska League 2: teams based in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio |

I'm a native Detroiter living in Chicago, in-laws in Wisconsin, and I was a carpetbagger in Omaha for a while, and I can tell you from conversations I've had with people in these other places that they do not consider Michigan, and especially Detroit, as being part of the Midwest. They considered it as being part of the East, and they point to the time zone to explain it. And I gotta tell ya: I can see where they're coming from.

In a previous version I ran a North American league but placed a few teams based on weather extremes to see what happened. Of course i gave em all open stadiums. Besides rain outs and snow outs I don't remember anything odd.
Does ootp take travel time into consideration? Guess I could put a team in Hong Kong and another in London and see if the visitors can even make it to one from the other for a day game after an extra innings nightcap. Does weather like temps affect ball travel or injuries? I am going to create a South Asian team where monsoons occur and a Barrow Alaska team now lol. Oh, and southern hemisphere seasons are flipped! But where the heck in the southern hemisphere do they have snowy winters..... Thanks for resurrecting the old thread. |
