Glazkov used his jab to maintain a proper distance and negate a lot of Fury's activity. Tyson hurt him in the fourth with an uppercut and built up a bit of a lead before he tired late and Glazkov swept the last three rounds of the tepid affair to secure a draw. 115-113 Fury & 114-114 x2

Thompson received his shot off of his upset win over Kelvin Price and he looked outclassed early when Del Boy hurt him in the opening round with some wild right hands and opened a nasty cut over his left eye in round two with an uppercut. Vincent got his jab working and fought on even terms in the third and fourth, but Chisora turned back up the heat and busted open Thompson's eye to the point that they had to stop the fight in the sixth.

They engaged early and often, Abdusalamov struck first when he stunned the champion with a short hook and followed up with two straight left hands, Seth fired back with a huge right hand and they traded bombs over the final half minute and the challenger walked back to his corner with both eyes swelling. A massive right hand buckled Magomed's knees to open the second and Mitchell unleashed with both hands, slamming lefts and rights into the challengers rapidly deteriorating features until an uppercut sent his neck limp and the ref stepped in.

Price started well, popping Teper with jabs and right hands in a strong opening round. The challenger came back in the second and he rocked David twice with huge right hands. They traded heavily early in round three and David stunned him with a right hand to gain a slight edge, late in the round a wicked hook by Teper had Price hanging on as the crowd went wild. They went at it to start the fourth and Erkan fired a straight right to the body that was met with a violent uppercut from the champion that put Teper down for an eight count, he arose on unsteady legs and David hammered him with right hands until the referee was forced to step in.

The German Connection stepped up in his biggest test to date and put on the best performance of his career. Stiff jabs had Monk's left eye swelling by the end of round three and after a minor rally he dominated down the stretch; dropping Foreman in the ninth for a six count with a right hand and cruising to the UD. 98-91 x2 & 98-92

This was wild early and Simon floored Lucas in the second with a right hand and nearly finished him with a vicious barrage of shots. Ruiz came out fast, hurting the champion in the opening round with a powerful hook and he rocked him with hard combos over the first three rounds. Chisora scored with some nice body shots in the fourth before Andy took command in the fifth with stiff jabs and right hands to continue building his lead. In round six Del Boy scored with a chopping right to the temple that stunned Ruiz and moments later a vicious uppercut put Andy down and out.

Fury was criticized for not granting a rematch to Vyacheslav Glazkov after their draw in June and going for this bigger money fight against the heralded, but unproven, Cuban. After a slow opening round, Solis rocked the champion in the second with a winging hook and he followed up with two hard combinations. Odlanier controlled much of the third with his jab and he rocked Tyson with a crushing right hand, two more rights followed and then Fury exploded back with five straight power shots and an uppercut opened a bad cut inside the Cuban's right eyebrow.

They grappled for much of the fourth and Fury was given two warnings for his roughhouse tactics. This seemed to draw the challengers ire and Solis responded with a huge fifth round, repeatedly tagging Fury with combinations and his advantage in speed was extremely pronounced, just before the bell a right hand dropped Fury for a five count. Odlanier came out to finish things and he found an enraged champion in front of him, Fury unleashed a barrage of shots to the body and a wicked uppercut to the chin put down Solis for a seven count, the champion pummeled his foe along the ropes over the final minute of a great comeback round in what is fast becoming an epic fight.

Sadly, both of them tired swiftly and the second half of the fight featured a lot of heavy breathing and clinching in close. Solis did score with two hard hooks to take the eighth round but the rest of them may as well have been a coin flip. In the end Fury, for the second consecutive bout, retained his crown with a draw. 114-113, 112-115 & 113-113

Emad Ali 23-4-3 (8) vs Lucas Browne 23-7 (20)

It's hard to blame Ali's handlers for looking away from the top contenders in the first defense of a belt he won on the canvas after a DQ of Luis Ortiz in a fight Emad was being battered in. Ali used his jab well in the opening round but Lucas matched it by scoring with three heavy right hands. The champion looked fantastic in round two, flooring Lucas with a hook off of a jab for a five count and then dropping him again thirty seconds later with the same punch sequence. They plodded along at a pedestrian pace from there and Ali was able to stave off a late rally from Browne to make his first defense a successful one via close UD, 115-112 & 114-113 x2

The first unification fight in history opened with price stunning Mitchell with a hook and when he went to follow up Mitchell caught him with a wild right hand that put David down for a five count. Mayhem was still buzzed and he didn't follow up with much as they tied up on the inside over the final minute of the round. Seth took command in the second and over the next four rounds he backed Price up and landed hard right hands while David tried to work his jab.

In the sixth Price turned the tide with two big right hands and while Mitchell tried to battle back he continually clipped him with right hands during the dominant stanza, with seconds left in the round David ripped a hook to the body that put Seth down on his hands and knees as the bell rang, he barely beat the count and looked in a bad way as he wobbled back to his corner. Seth showed his grit in the seventh, hurting Price early with a right hand and twice dropping him in the final minute with that same punch.

Price looked tired coming out for the eighth and his left eye was rapidly closing, you can't question his resolve though, as he pulled himself off of the canvas for the fourth time late in the round after seth dumped him with a left hook. This amazing brawl continued in round nine when they traded heavily until David floored Mitchell with a crushing uppercut and he tagged him with two hard right hands trying to close the show.

Mitchell caught him coming in with a right hand early in the tenth that sent Price stumbling across the ring and Seth ran after him and delivered another right that put him down for a six count, the referee was looking closely as Seth unloaded a barrage that culminated with a left hook that put Price down for the sixth time. He once again climbed off of the canvas and met Seth with a right hand and a hook that put Micthell down for the third time, he was flat on his back and it looked as if he wouldn't beat the count when he barely got to his feet as the bell could barely be heard over the roars of the crowd. They were both spent and the drama stopped in the final two rounds, but this war will not soon be forgotten and Mitchell became the first unified champion with a barbaric UD, 116-105, 116-106 & 115-106


Edmund Gerber 24-0 (12) vs Michael Wallisch 22-6-2 (10)

These two Germans squared off and the former IBO champion promised to pose the undefeated Gerber's stiffest test as a pro. Gerber boxed well behind his jab and built an early lead in what was a less than thrilling battle. Late in round five Wallisch floored Edmund with a left hook and he scored with two hard uppercuts while the German Connection looked to survive.

Gerber seemed to regain control but the rounds were close, in the ninth Michael landed another hook that opened a nasty cut alongside Gerber's eyebrow and some well placed right hands had his left eye swollen at rounds end. Nothing much transpired in round ten and the judges awarded the split verdict to Wallisch who notched another upset. 96-93, 94-95 & 96-95 in spite of Gerber being the winner on most all observers cards.

Glazkov rocked Ali with a right hand early in the opening round and he hammered him throughout the stanza. Ali exhibited a tremendous chin, but with the exception of two hooks that got Vyacheslav's attention in round three he was on the wrong end of the punishment. Glazkov finally floored him in round nine with a right hand and twice more in round ten, the second time for the ten count courtesy of a vicious uppercut and the third time was the charm for Glazkov as he finally captured a belt.

Monk just doesn't throw enough punches and Pulev exploited that with combinations throughout the fight that led him to claim his third straight win since losing his rubber match with David Price. Kubrat dropped Foreman in the seventh and eighth with right hands and nearly closed George's right eye on the way to the dominant UD, 100-88 & 99-89 x2

Simon started great, scoring with clean right hands and then dropping Wilder late in the opening round with a wicked left hook, he was up at six but Garret didn't have time to press the issue. This months regional battles continued when these two highly ranked Germans squared off. Wallisch has been the biggest spoiler in the sport but Teper took the fight to him early and rocked him several times with huge right hands during a completely dominant opening three rounds. Michael began to work his way into the fight behind his jab as the pace slowed to a crawl. Wallisch stunned Erkan with a right hand late in round eight and he busted open his lip with an uppercut in round nine. While the rounds Teper won were bigger, Wallisch sprung another upset via UD, 96-94 & 95-94 x2

The new champion found himself on the seat of his pants inside of a minute courtesy of a huge right hand from Wilder, he was up at six but the rest of the round saw the challenger scoring with punishing hooks and right hands. Deontay maintained command for the next three rounds until the champion sliced open his right eyebrow with a jab in round five and scored with clean right hands over the remainder of the stanza. Wilder shrugged it off and the former champion dropped Glazkov again in round eight with an uppercut. Wilder kept the momentum until Glazkov shockingly floored the challenger with a right hand with six seconds left in the bout. Wilder regained his feet before the ten count even though he didn't have to and he regained his title via SD, 116-109, 113-114 & 114-111

A wild crowd packed oriental Park for the first title fight ever held in Cuba. Perhaps that inspired Solis as he entered the ring at a svelte, for him, 240 pounds. Both men fed off the crowd and provided entertaining action over the first five rounds but the champions more powerful looking hook seemed to earn him an edge even though Perez was right there with speedy counter combos. Mike turned the tide in round six with a beautiful hook that stunned Solis and he pasted him with several clean combos in the most clear cut round of a very competitive fight.

They both slowed up a bit and Odlanier was able to dictate a lot of the action with hard jabs and hooks, Perez had a big ninth round when connected with three hard right hands but Solis got the better of some heated action in round eleven when he countered Mike's right jab with stunning hooks before holding his own in a melee over the final half minute that had the crowd roaring its approval. The verdict was unanimous for Solis, 118-112 x2 & 117-113

After a slow opening round Michael's string of impressive wins came to a dramatic close when Gerber stunned him with a right hand and followed up with a barrage of shots to the head and body that left Wallisch crumbled in the corner for the full count.

(1st Defenses)

Pulev dominated the opening round with clean jabs and right hands before Gerber got a rise out of the German round with a huge round two, swelling up the champions right eye with jabs and staggering him twice with right hands. Edmund fought well in the third and fourth and from that point on it was all Kubrat. The Cobra took it inside and used his experience to rough up the challenger and he floored him in the eleventh with an uppercut en route to a much closer than it looked UD, 116-112 & 115-113 x2


David Price 31-2-1 (25) vs Joe Hanks 20-1-2 (12)

There was speculation that Price's best days are behind him after the vicious war with Seth Mitchell and he did little to alleviate those claims as he and Hanks plodded through seven uneventful rounds. David snapped out of it in the eighth when he dropped Joe for a five count with a right hand and controlled the action down the stretch to take the MD, 96-94 x2 & 95-95


Jonte Willis 22-0-2 (5) vs Andy Ruiz, Jr. 23-6 (14)

Two of the younger guns met up and Ruiz applied constant pressure banging the body and scoring with left hooks to the head. Willis nearly floored him with a hook in the sixth and round eight was an absolute war with both men rocked by right hands but they continued to trade furiously throughout the potential ROTY(22-17), in the end the activity of Ruiz was too much for Willis and he suffered his first loss by UD, 98-93, 97-93 & 96-94

Bryant Jennings 25-3-1 (15) vs Magomed Abdusalamov 25-2-1 (20)
(1st Defense)

Magomed vowed to make the best of his fourth title try and he rocked Jennings with a left hand early in the opening round, Abdusalamov racked up rounds with punishing rights and lefts that had Jennings left eye ballooning by the end of round five. Bryant started scoring with right hands in the sixth to make things more competitive but he was still way behind when he hurt Magomed in the eighth with an uppercut and then floored the challenger in round nine with a brutal hook, the follow up barrage left an exhausted Abdusalamov helpless on the ropes and the fight was stopped.


Derek Chisora 21-1 (14) vs George Foreman III 28-5-1 (17)

No need sugar coating this, with the exception of two massive right hands in the fourth round, Foreman took a brutal beating. Del Boy set the tone when he floored Mon with a right hand early in round one and both of his eyes had gruesome swelling when he was dumped by another right late in the seventh and finished early by a combo in round eight.


Tommy Zbikowski 22-0 (16) vs Emad Ali 24-5-3 (8)

Ali scored with a few jabs over the opening minute of the fight, Zbikowski jumped in with a right hand and a counter hook opened a hideous gash on Tommy Z's right eyebrow, after consulting with the doctor the referee immediately stopped the fight pinning Zbikowski with his first loss and the former WBA champion with a big win.

Deontay Wilder 28-1-1 (24) vs Odlanier Solis 21-0-1 (16)
(WBA 1st Defense) (IBF 2nd defense)

The Cuban couldn't get around the reach of his foe in the opening round and Wilder controlled things with his jab. Deontay started scoring with right hands in the second but Solis closed distance and banged hooks to the body and the next three rounds were close and fought at a fairly fast clip. They went to war in the sixth but Solis scored with the cleaner punches as he brilliantly countered Wilder's aggression.

Odlanier took the seventh and much of the eighth as Deontay began to look confused, then with twenty seconds left in the round Wilder took a hook to the body and dropped a vicious right hand flush on the chin that put Solis down for a five count. Odlanier's right eye started to show swelling and he was on the receiving end of the worst of things for the ninth and most of the tenth until, almost exactly like Deontay did in the eighth, he landed a counter hook that floored Wilder for a seven count with seconds left in the round. After a tight round eleven Wilder closed strong in the twelfth, battering the exhausted Cuban with lefts and rights over the final minute.The judges were split, 114-112, 112-114 & 115-114 for Solis and a fight between he and Kubrat Pulev to produce an undisputed champion is now the biggest fight in the division. Wilder shouldn't be overlooked, because many thought he won and a rematch is also in order.

(2nd Defenses)

Robert stunned the champion early with a right hand but Pulev spent the last minute of the round grinding on the inside. That's where he dominated the next two rounds with hooks and uppercuts. Helenius landed a thunderous uppercut in round four and they traded for the full three minutes. The pace slowed from there and holding was prevalent, but Pulev strung together three good rounds from nine to eleven to solidify his UD victory. 116-111, 115-112 & 114-113


Derek Chisora 22-1 (15) vs Jason Massie 26-4 (21)

These guys got after it with relentless in-fighting at a high rate. Chisora dominated round two and opened a cut under Massie's right eye with a left hook. The next several rounds were action packed and tight, Derek landed more frequently with wide hooks and right hands while Jason connected with hard shots, hurting Chisora with a murderous right hand in round six and closing the round with a barrage of blows that had Derek in bad trouble.

Chisora and Massie opened the seventh with a frenzied exchange and a right hand put Massie down for a seven count, Derek tried in vain to finish the fight but Jason's right eye was now substantially swollen when he used powerful hooks and right hands that enabled him to take round eight.

After they slowed down in round nine Massie closed the show strong when he connected with a violent double hook that split open Chisora's right eye and he banged his body with both hands and scored with two booming right hands in the final twenty seconds. The american crowd booed when Chisora was given the UD in a grueling war, 96-93 & 95-94 x2

These two southpaws traded jabs and left hands in a tight opening round. Artur hurt the Cuban with a crushing left midway through the second and he battered him over the rest of the round leaving Ortiz with a swollen right eye. Szpilka hurt him again with a left hand in the fourth but Luis stormed back in round five and landed several brutal uppercuts that formed a nasty mouse under Artur's right eye. The second half of the bout was all Szpilka, he used his jab to pepper his tiring foe and took the impressively wide UD, 99-91 & 98-92 x2


Mike Perez 30-3-1 (23) vs Emilio Zarate 20-7-1 (7)

The Cubans return from his title losing effort to Odlanier Solis was expected to provide little difficulty, nobody clued in Zarate as he met Perez blow for blow in the first two rounds before dropping Mike with a hook late in round three. Perez turned to dirty tactics, low blows and rabbit punches that drew several warnings until he was Dq'd in round six for a blatant headbutt and Emilio secured the huge upset.

This fight was pedestrian over the first six rounds and then the German floored him with an uppercut late in round seven. By-By showed a champions heart and bounced back to drop Erkan in the seventh with a 3 punch combo and he put a beating on him over the final half minute. Bryant dropped him again in the ninth with a cross and held off a late Teper rally to retain his strap by SD, 113-112 x2 & 112-113


Seth Mitchell 28-1 (26) vs David Price 33-2-1 (26)

Rematch: Mitchell UD12

There were no titles on the line but this rematch of the insane war these two put on was highly anticipated. Price detonated a huge right hand early in the first that rocked Seth and he drilled him with measured bombs until a hook put Mitchell down for a six count, he was up on unsteady legs and David unloaded six straight bombs to prompt the stoppage and garner emphatic revenge with a first round TKO.


Steffen Kretschmann 20-0 (12) vs Paul Zalus 27-9 (21)

The unbeaten German kept Zalus on the end of his jab for most of the opening round until Zalus connected with a singular hook that dropped Kretschmann for a five count with seconds remaining in the frame. Paul floored him again with a right hand early in the second and hammered the favorite throughout the round. Steffen came on in the third and opened cuts over both of the Americans eyes with combinations. Kretschmann dominated form that point on until the fight was stopped due to the cuts in round seven.
