Imagine Sierra's Front Page COLLEGE football.... or any of the front page series with an indepth financial model (along with better customer service and bug fixes of course). While I love OOTP along with Solecismic's FOF & College Years games, I've always missed "watching" the game unfold as it did in Sierra's series. In addition, you could customize your playbooks, have coaching profiles, and even create plays.
Therefore, it would be a GRAPHICAL sports simulation that's missing in the market right now. In fact, I've always been baffled as to why no one has purchased the Front Page Series from Sierra, patched up the bugs and slapped on a good financial interface or recruiting interface with a college type of game. In regards to baseball, High Heat has come close to a graphical sports sim but the "sierra"-type of approach (no customer service and rare patches) has come to bite them on their butt. In addition, High Heat seems to want to abandon their "simulation" aspect and become another Triple Play type of game. *sigh* Text is great, but there's nothing better than watching the play unfold.... this goes for the benchmark program Championship Manager as well.... If there was a graphical representation of what is being described in text in most sports sims, we'd feel like we were truly in the game. |

A john simulator game.
Basically, you're a john trying to pick up a hooker. The main objective of the game is to pick up the right type of hooker without being busted by the cops or robbed or getting a STD. Some basic premises are these : 1) There are different types of hookers (e.g.: women, men dressed as women, transvestites, thieves disguised as hookers, etc.) and you need to try and pick up the right one for your particular "needs". Of course, you also have to avoid the cops and not be conned into overpaying by the hooker. 2) Each stage of the game is based in a different world location. As you progress through the game, your "needs" change, the various types of hookers change, and the police presence becomes more intensive. 3) On the more advanced boards, your character is forced to make the decision while under the influence (e.g.: alcohol, drugs). 4) Once you pass all the boards, you become promoted to "Pimp Daddy" and start to run your own prostitution ring. In this role, you have to hire the hookers, keep them in line, avoid/bribe the police, and provide protection to your hookers (a dead hooker isn't a profitable one for a pimp). 5) The game will eventually end due to the following reasons : For johns: a) You get busted by the cops b) You get an STD c) You get robbed by an imitation hooker d) You get the wrong hooker for your particular "need" For "Pimp Daddys" a) You get busted by the cops b) Your hookers revolt against you and kill you c) Your hookers run off to another pimp d) Your hookers get killed by johns e) You reach the pinnacle of Pimp Daddy which is buying a pink Cadillac with leopard seat covers and big dice on the rearview mirror.

I don't think Joe posts any more, but he really should look into Wall Street Raider.
