Joe, I apologize. I was acting silly and you were right to correct the situation. Instead, I made it worse by having a temper tantrum. Why, I don't know, except that other things in my life were bothering me. Which again is stupid, because I come here to get away from them!

Yes, he was right. I want to talk Yankee baseball, not dumb poetry! (Although that was a good piece by me, I must say. ).

You said it: Let's move on. Yankee Stadium Opening Day!

I don't have any issues with Vazquez - he's one of my favourite pitchers from 2004

Nice ring ceremony. Now let's play ball! (And let's try not to look over at the old stadium, now almost completely torn down - too bad they couldn't finish demolition before Opening Day).

Heh, Bernie bounced the ball with his opening pitch...still hasn't officially retired, but can't reach the plate?

It was a moving opening day ceremony... Always brings a tear or two, to my eye. Is there any better combo then being an American Yankee fan? I think not!

Thanks, thom. I got tired of whining and kicking the floor. No fun having a temper tantrum when nobody can see it!

Heh, no comment... gotta watch my step... next thing you know, I be a newbie again, "Déjà Déjà Bru" or something...

Hey, nice hand for Matsui, and how about Nick Johnson not pulling a hamstring doing his home run trot!

98 Yanks (Sorry, but that's the way I'll always see you ), it's all water under the bridge. WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to work so I missed the opening ceremony. Sounds like Bernie's arm has gotten better since his playing days Glad to hear they gave Matsui a nice ovation. He deserves it. We just needed to get younger and more agile or he'd still be in pinstripes.

*sigh* Robertson got creamed and forced Rivera to pitch a game he really shouldn't have had to pitch. I really like Robertson. Hopefully, he can step it up to where he's a reliable arm in the pen. His K/IP ration is usually insane.

So much for the aging Yankees... They are the only American League team with nobody on the DL

It was very nice to see him getting a nice ovation there last night!

At what point in the season will Teix's average reach the same level as the Orioles' winning percentage?

He's notorious for slow starts. If he's still hitting like Ortiz in the beginning of May, I'll start getting concerned

Can I say I really dislike Vasquez. I hated him the first time around and just knew he would be a bust again this year. I know it's only two starts but I truely cannot stand the man.

I haven't given up on him just yet, but my expectations were never insanely high in the first place

I'm sad to say he has met my expectations... And now he's complaining about getting booed??? Go back to the NL, cause the AL is just too big for you.

It seems like old times was vasquez...just like last time.

Also how come the Yankkes dont have a LF...Gardner no bat, no glove, no arm...but boy can he run. At least Damon could hit.....

Gardner is a good fielder. Have a bit of patience with his bat. I think he'll end up being a .270ish slap hitter, which is all the Yanks need out of their LF this year. Don't forget, Crawford is coming available next year and I think the Yankees' brass is already drooling over the prospect of getting him into pinstripes.

I think I remember him two years ago, called up in Sept? And being hurt last year, but I dont think he has much of an arm, doesnt get on base a whole lot and tries to hit too many deep. What happened to the old style speed guys, beat the ball into the ground and leg it out?

I would have been happier with Melky in left.......... or another year of Damon.

Well, Hughes was a bit wild, but the fact that he only gave up 2 runs when he walked 5 is a pretty good sign. Hopefully, he keeps getting better from here.

Nice to see Cano ripping the cover off the ball and Granderson doing well. 2 triples in one game .. I wonder when the last time that happened for a Yankee. We haven't been known for the fastest guys in the league
