I don't have the game yet, but the lack of nerd rage in various places indicates that this may be the best OOTPB release yet. I will pay my full price at some point Friday with a smile on my face. It still amazes me to this day that the Diamond Mind folks back in the 1990s could not see how this comprehensive GM text-based game could dominate the landscape. It appears that in 2009, with Diamon Mind in all sorts of strange flux, we can crown a new King of baseball text-based simulation. Somebody who played Championship Manager back in the day and thought, you know, this could work as a baseball sim (speculation on my part). Bravo Markus and beta team!

Guys, thank you for the kind words! Happy customers mean the most to us, and posts like these make me realize that we have a great job and motivate us to give the best we can for the game
![]() Now if the game would just sell a fraction of Football Manager (known as Worldwide Soccer Manager in the U.S.), then we could hire a couple more people and thus sleep some more on occasion

thought I would wait to download because it usually takes so long -- game DL in 5 minutes -- can not get to sleep so was perfect time. now to install and play.
Sounds like a great job - Markus

Not that I'm in a rush because I'm at work, but what's the holdup? Does it have to be exactly 48 hours since the pre-orderers got their copy?

Thanks, Markus, and also to everyone else involved, beta testers etc, for a great release. This is the only game I play on a regular basis and, since the "Season Ticket Baseball" days [2003?] it has provided waaay more than just value for money. Like everyone else on this forum, I really do appreciate your efforts.

I'd like to add my thanks and congratulations to Markus and everyone else involved in this release. Out of the park is one of my all time favorite simulations, and y'all seem to make it better each and every year!
Such a wonderful way to pass the time....

I know this isn't the best method of buying the game (as far as getting the most revenue per customer to you) but will you be offering OOTP 10 on Steam or other DD services like the last one?
I really do almost all of my game buying via DD or Impulse at this point. |

Definetly the most solid release yet. Not a single problem to be found so far.

Agreed. Fantastic job.
I've had a few crashes on exit, but I'd be inclined to chalk that up to "Vista being Vista." |

Thanks for your hard work Markus and the rest of the team who worked on this. I'm no longer really a baseball fan, stopped in the early 90s, but I have a lot of fun playing pseudo historical seasons from 1970s and 80s. I tend to do fantasy drafts. With my OOTP X one I started it seamed like the AI was better able to keep me from drafting a killer team. In OOTP 9 I was able to dominate pretty fast.
On another front... I admire your work on another level too. My profession had been a software developer for 13 years before I decided to stay home to care for my 2 year old son. I always said I would like to create a game of my own, but never had the dedication or courage to give it a try. I got very tired working for 'the man'. I hope some day I have the guts to give it a go, whether it be in this area or something new. It is good to see a success story like yours. Congratulations for this too. |
