A lot of people think the game will become available Wednesday. I think they're probably right unless they find something in their testing.

That said, I hope I am able to download the game tonight, late, before the east coast guys get on in the morning and clog up the works.

If so, I'll be able to check everything out tomorrow during the day as I go about my other projects.

I can't remember how long it took me to download ootp-9 but it seems as though it wasn't particularly long...under 30 minutes if I recall.

Be glad to get it downloaded.

remember that he said that it was the first week of June, and the preorder people would get it two days early, I'll say 4th, and will come out for others on the 6th.

I took that under consideration. But the number of OOTP players elsewhere are far outnumbered by the ones that live here in the United States. We recently had a thread called "Where are we" that proved that.

Even a 6am release east coast would be great. Anything is better than releasing in the middle of the afternoon with all of the traffic.

Steve Battisti has twice (that I know of) said that the wiki page has no affiliation with OotPDevelopments., so that's as much denial as I need.

And the wiki page originally said June 2nd, so whoever's running it is only guessing.

Considering this is the first week of June, and the pre-release is supposed to go out 2 days before the public release, I would assume today would be pre-release day. Just saying doing deductive reasoning would come to that conclusion unless there was a problem with the RC.

I just checked, nothing up yet.

The developers are German (at least that is my understanding). The time in Germany is about 7:30 am. The workday there has just begun.

They need to look at their testing data for the last two days, make any final tweaks, and then get the game posted to the Mirrors. I don't know how they're set up to do all that, but it should take at least a couple hours or so to get all that accomplished.

And then they start sending out the emails.

So, sometime around 3:00 am EST, the game should be available for download...plus or minus a day or two.

So, like everyone, I'll continue to check back occasionally.

I'm up all night anyway watching my newborn twins. So this is one time that being up late won't bother me at all. That is, if the game is released this morning.

Hehe. Good luck with your twins. I have children. They're great. The older they get, the funner they get too although they can be fun even when they are young.

It won't be long that they'll be wanting their own version of some of the games you like to play right now.

Side note: one of the things I used to do with my kids when they were small is we would throw a sheet over us, and sneak up on mom. After all, how could she see us if we couldn't see her? Yes, we'd all cover ourselves in the sheet, and me and the giggliing kids would follow mom around and maybe spy on her while she was watching television and so forth. Of course she played right along. It was funny.

Not sure why I remembered that, just did.

I seem to remember the game being released late at night West Coast time ... which equates to a daytime release for Mr. H.

I got an email early this morning and thought, "Hmmm, who could be emailing me at 5:30 am? It must be the OOTP release!!"

Instead it was a student writing, "I have diarrhea and have been throwing up all night, would it be ok if I missed today's test?"

First - very disappointing. Second - too much information!!!

It's currently 3.39am PDT (Timeanddate.com ftw!), and 12.40 central Europe time. I'm guessing somewhere around 2-4pm CET release.

If he's capable of getting to a computer, switching it on, and sending out an email to the correct person, he's obviously not that poorly. Maybe he was bricking it because of the upcoming test...
