Olympia Stadion, Berlin, Germany Olympic Boxing Finals Larry Holmes (9-0-0 as an amateur) v Stan Ward (7-2-0 as an amateur) Most experts saw Holmes as the big favourite already before the tournament, after him winning the olympic trials. During the olympics he has gotten better and better. His outclassing of Leroy Jones, who gave him big trouble in the olympic trials, was very impressive. Stan Ward, on the other hand, was not someone who was expected to go this far. He has proven many wrong with his close win against medal favourite Scott LeDoux. The fight will be 6 rounds, as 5 is not possible.. The fighters come in, looking fit and confident to loud cheers of the big audience in this amazing stadium. 1st round: Holmes lands a body punch and holds. Holmes lands a devastating uppercut that suddenly sends Ward down. Ward struggles, but just barely gets up at the count of 9. 2nd round: Holmes scores to the head and body. Holmes lands a cross. Holmes lands another right. Holmes lands a big left hook. 3rd round: Ward lets his hands go and at least one punch lands. Holmes lands a smashing hook. The fighters clinch. 4th round: Holmes lands a counter cross. Holmes goes to the body. Holmes lands a short uppercut. Holmes lands two solid jabs. Holmes lands the right hand. Holmes is giving Ward a beating. 5th round: Ward lands to the chest and neck of Holmes. Holmes lands a hook to the body. Holmes headbutts Ward and a cut is opened above his left eye. The ref rules it to be intentional. Ward lands two quick jabs. 6th round: Wards corner has managed to close the cut. Holmes lands a sneaky right hand. Holmes hooks of the jab. Holmes lands a uppercut. Holmes stuns Ward with an uppercut. Holmes lands a jab. Holmes lands a four punch combination at the bell! Final scores are: 132-16 for the new olympic gold medalist, Larry 'The Easton Assasin' Holmes! What an impressive perfomance by Holmes! |

Time to pick this up again - not long till the 1976 olympics with some rules slightly changed:
3 rounders will be fought with the judges scoring the bouts per rounds. I will use RFG (0-6) to create a big bunch of the fighters. All real fighters debuting from 1977 and up to 2008 will in theory be eligble for the qualifiers as long as they are at least 17 years old and tops 34 years old. RFG's will not be able to turn pro, they will act as amateurs only.

Regional bouts:
ABCO (18 fighters): Everyone fights random other ABCO fighters by auto-scheduler (9 bouts per month). Best 3 goes to the olympics. ABU (12 fighters): Everyone fights random other ABU fighters by auto-scheduler (6 bouts per month). Best 2 goes to the olympics. You get the picture.. Schedule: Auto-scheduling every month from January to July (01->07). I wont post any results from the auto-scheduled bouts but only who made it through to the olympics. The olympics are held in August. I will be playing this until the end of July before going back to the original universe

I've made the mistake of taking in too many fighters, but now NABF will simply only have 15 moving on, so no problem.
