They did say it came from a punch but after the fight when they were interviewing Vasquez, you could see that the cut over the right eye was larger than the one over the left eye. Definitely seems like they clashed heads at some point in round three but it's hard to tell where it happened without any replay.

I still have it on my DVR I will watch it again in the next day or two and see which round it happened in.
