If they traded that pick for Randolph I don't know what I'd do as a Celtics fan. I know they need to get a veteran, but Randolph doesn't seem to be the answer to me.

(Unless my image that he reminds me of Shawn Kemp in the fact that he's unmotivated is wrong)

He's currently being sued by a stripper for sexual assault, he once punched a teammate in practice, he was nearly charged for misleading police in an investigation of the shooting of 3 people.

And he doesn't play defense.

Besides that, Zach Randolph is a great guy to add to your team. He's one of those rare players that would cause me to immediately stop rooting for the Raptors if Colangelo suddenly lost his mind and acquired him.

What a horrible turn of events tonight was. Here's to another 20 years of rebuilding.

I'm having a hard time joining the Boston pity party given that they have the Red Sox and Patriots. I can't believe we're supposed to feel sorry for them.

Thought so.

Celtics need to package #5 and get out of that spot. The only guy they should take is Conley, but I'm pretty sure they are set on Rondo/Telfair.

Ugh, what a mess.

PM, didn't they cut telfair?

As for conley, I think the hawks FINALLY draft a damn pg in conley. They need a PG or C and after oden there isn't a dominant enough big to pass on conley. Although knowing the hawks they'll draft another wing

I think he's still on the team, but I'm a bit confused. I read somewhere Ainge said he was sticking with Telfair, but then I read that they removed his nameplate from his locker. I think he's technically still on the team, but maybe he's on his way out.

At this point, I think the best scenario is to let Pierce go out West and start at the beginning.

With Pierce, the Celtics will be a borderline playoff team every year, probably sneaking into the 8 seed to bow out in the first round. Then, they get a marginal draft pick and are stuck in mediocrity.

No one said anything about pitying Boston fans. This is a private party

The Celtics have been my favorite team since I was six years old watching them at my grandparents house. It's a shame that this franchise is as bad as it is right now.

Yeah, I wasn't referencing anything said here. Probably should have noted that.

1 in 555 chance that the draft order worked out the way it did tonight.

Meh. 1 in 129 chance that the top three remain in order, the most common possibility.

Yeah, but what are the odds of NONE of the worst 3 teams getting a top 3 pick? That had to be astronomical.

Nearly 1 in 16. Not nearly as astronomical as you might think.

really???

So about a 6% chance that Milwaukee, Boston, AND Memphis were left out of the top 3?

Interesting...

What are the local sports stations saying down there about the pick and Gasol?

Man. The televised MLB draft just became better than the NBA draft lottery. And that's hard to do.
