lol I know, the next one will be a team preview, probably Thursday. I hate putting it off so long, but I've been working the 3-10 shift everyday lately, tomorrows my one off day but I have a family party, the next time I'm off is Thursday, so I expect to do a team preview and start the spring training then.

Athletics Acquire Slugger Green From Diamondbacks
By Rob Neyer Oakland has decided to get into the trading fun along with division rivals, Texas, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Earlier this month Texas acquired pitcher Adam Eaton to improve the team's pitching staff, while Los Angeles and Seattle were involved in a three team trade that brought Aubrey Huff to LA and Julio Lugo to Seattle in moves made to improve both team's offenses. The Athletics, who have already brought in veteran sluggers Milton Bradley and Frank Thomas and veteran starter Esteban Loaiza this off-season, have added another veteran power hitter to the lineup in first baseman/outfielder Shawn Green, who returns to the Golden State, after spending five seasons with Los Angeles. Green grew up in Tustin, California, near Los Angeles, but also lived by the Bay in San Jose. Green, who began his career in Toronto before signing with Los Angeles, has 303 career home runs in his 13 major league seasons. Green also has a career batting average of .283 and has 147 career steals, including 35 during the 1998 season, when he also hit 35 home runs. Green's knees and age have limited his base running ability, but he still has the power. Green's best season came in 2001, his second season in LA, when he hit 49 home runs with 125 runs batted in and a .297 batting average. Last season with Arizona Green hit 22 home runs with a .283 batting average. Green will spend time in right field and also at first base. The Athletics also have Mark Kotsay, Jay Payton, and Dan Johnson at those positions and they will split time there. The Athletics also acquired reliever 27 year old reliever Greg Aquino. The Diamondbacks received outfielder Bobby Kielty and two prospects, starting pitcher Jason Windsor, and rightfielder Danny Putnam, in return. Aquino, a native of the Dominican Republic, has pitched in relief in 68 major league games and has a career ERA of 5.26. In 2004 Aquino spent time as Arizona's closer, saving 16 games with a 3.06 ERA. Aquino should start the season as a middle reliever for Oakland. Bobby Kielty, who is 29, will replace Shawn Green in the Diamondbacks' outfield and will most likely be the team's fourth outfielder, behind former teammate Eric Byrnes, veteran Luis Gonzalez, and rookie Carlos Quentin. The Diamondbacks traded Green in order to open up first base for Conor Jackson, who will platoon with Tony Clark, and right field for Quentin. Kielty, a native of Fontana, California, was signed as an amatuer free agent out of the University of Misssissippi by the Minnesota Twins in 1999. Kielty debuted in the majors two seasons later in 2001, and three season with the Twins, splitting the 2003 season between Minnesota and Toronto after being traded to the Blue Jays. Kielty signed with the Athletics after the 2003 season. Windsor, who is 23, is ranked by Baseball America as the 15th best prospect in the Oakland system, while fellow 23 year old Putnam is the 14th best. Windsor pitched at Cal State Fullerton and was drafted by the A's in the third round of the 2004 draft. Windsor has a good curveball and changeup, but projects as a back of the rotation starter or long reliever. Windsor's minor league career has been plagued by inconsistency and bicep tendiditis. Putnam, the Athletics first round pick in 2004, played at Stanford and is a solid hitter who could be a future starter or fourth outfielder. Both Putnam and Windsor will start 2006 in Double A. ![]() Green brings his power bat back to California

Well this blows...
Luckily I haven't played any games yet, but somehow my file isn't working anymore, I think the file might be corrupted, I'm not sure how, but it seems to have happened. I haven't played the games, but did a lot of work on the roster set, tuning it to the way I wanted, I was over half done and was hoping to start the spring training games. Now I think I'm going to have to start over and all that time was wasted. Boo :-( The next update may be a little while from now, but when it is, it will be the first ST game.
