Thats all it took to proclaim Derrek Lee as one of the greatest players of all time.

Friggin' lifetime .276 hitter.

Managers are not picked. They get to manage because they were in the world series last year.

Have we really gotten to the point where we're complaining about which COACHES get into the All-Star game?

Actually, Leyland was asked to be a coach, but declined. He felt that someone else should have the chance instead of someone who had been out of managing for six years.

Phil Garner is a tool. You want to know why you lost? Because you didn't play your best players.

I especially didn't agree with Renteria batting 5th. Anyway, Phil Garner seems like the nicest guy. After loses, he never places blame and remains positive.

Sorry, just upset that the Best Second baseman (so far this season) in the National League didn't even get to play.

Actually the best 2nd basemen wasn't on the team, but I know you are talking about Uggla

Yeah, probably right. Who was the one that didn't make the team? Uggla has played better than Kent so far.

Has played better than Utley as well. Granted Utley has probably been the closest to him in production. He is about 1 win behind Uggla.

And on the defensive side. Utley is -6 FRAA. Uggla is +6. Utley's EQA is .294. Uggla's is .295. Uggla's wins above replacement is at 4.5 and Utley is at 3.5. Uggla has been better all-around player. Utley deserved to be on the team and he even deserved to start (because he was voted there), but Uggla deserved to play at least one inning. Way before Freddie Sanchez got moved to Second to replace Uttley.

You have to take the stats into context. Utley plays in a hitter friendly park. Uggla plays in a pitcher friendly park. Sure the traditional stats favor Utley, but they are mostly being inflated by the park he plays in. Uggla has been more productive because his park is less friendly. It is close, and I didn't have a problem with Utley playing over Uggla, I had a problem with Uggla not even getting in the game when he is clearly superior so far this year to every other 2B in the league.
