I might not have seen it yet, but I like the option of making the All-Star Game determine Home Field Advantage in the postseason. I'm almost positive I haven't seen this option, but I've only tinkered with it for now.
It's very useful for my online league, and gets the league more involved in the All-Star Game.

Definitely the leaguewide financial report. I use it all the time in 6.5.
Also (and maybe this is there but I just couldn't find it) a page listing all of the outstanding free agent offers by team (or even just a page within each team's individual section that shows what offers you've made). You need to be able to see what you've offered, and commissioners of online leagues especially need a place they can go and see the leaguewide offers.

Thanks for asking, Markus. Whatever you can do is great!
Minor league reports (i.e., scout suggestions on approrpriate promotions and demotions, e.g., "Could play in AAA"). Trading block and shop around (but shouldn't be immediate like in 6.51, rather by emails as in OOTP2006 - delays in response to trade offers/interest is more realistic). "Win now" vs. "Rebuilding" designations. |

1) Team vs. team W-L records. This used to be in the league standings report, & I like looking at it, especially in online leagues, to see how tough my opponents have been compared to other contenders, etc. 2) Player popularity ratings. They were a little messed up due to the fact that middle relievers somehow were hugely popular, but the basic idea was great. If they could be tweaked to be more realistic, they would add back that (small, but tangible) incentive to keep your popular players together even if you have to overpay a bit.

Make depth chart out of lineup has been mentioned... but how about make lineup out of depth chart?

Also, I would like to have option to have the old simplified scouting system back. Sometimes, I just don't feel like doing all those scouting micromanagements and chores. I know that some people oppose to the idea of simplifying (or as some may say dumbing down) the game. However, I do feel that the user should be able to choose whether they want to deal with those details or not. Sometimes, people just don't have time for dealing with the low-level details but rather want to concentrate on the top-level management. Plus, if it's made optional, then everyone should be satisfied.

I also agree with Mattymo on having the AI manage when you sim innings or ABs in-game.

Being able to edit the text files (names, injuries, nations, cities) files at any time, and have them take effect, so that these could change through the history of the game.
(Could this be as simple as having the game check the date and file size of the files when it loads the league, and if it's different from before, reload those files?) |

I second adding the "strategic one-pitch" option when playing out games; it would speed up the simulation time enormously.
Also, I support the idea of mixing up the development more so your lineup is not composed entirely of guys drafted in rounds 1-3. |

I miss the fun and easy gameplay from 6.51.
I loved the using the '1' button to resolve plays because, using a laptop and a number pad, it was easy to lean back in my chair and play out games. The 'enter' key isnt nearly as ergonomic for me. I loved the easy and utilitarian interface of 6.51 game screen I loved having the option of starting a new franchise with a MLB mirrored roster OOTP 6.51 gameplay + OOTP 2006 management depth = perfection for me |
