Financials turned off?

I have run one season with this QS; find it pretty good; none of the problems noted above with bad stats etc.

However, after I started, I noticed that some of the financial functions and Rule 5 draft are turned off. When i go to the Setup menu, they won't turn on (they stay "muted"). I thought that it might be an "in season" thing, but now that the season is over (I'm in 12/06), still no luck.

Any ideas?

Not complaining, just trying to find out if anyone else has this problem and if there is a way to fix it. And you are suggesting changing every player in the league? You need to take your silly attitude elsewhere...

I think you have to wait for pre season.

I just downloaded this QS and started a season. I had all the settings selected that would allow only me to make roster moves. I simmed a couple of months in the offseason and the computer made several moves ... none of which I would have made. Is this a bug or am I not checking something correctly?

Just a note to add to the comments.... I also have not had the problems with stats using this set, though the weird A/I lineups linger

Is it just me or do the games seem very low scoring and long?

I mean, I had Aaron Herang go 12 innings in both his starts not allowing ONE run. lol

To everybody that has asked a question about stats, or how its set up or anything. The answer to your question has been answered about 3 times. Just read through the thread. This roster set is based off of OOTPB6 NOT THE NEW GAME. That is why there are AI problems, nationality problems (one thing I could give a crap about anyways), and other roster problems. There is NOTHING that I could have done when I put the affiliates in, just either use the rosters and deal with it until Cubbies come out, or just dont use them. There is nothing to do to fix them, complants or comments wont help the situation at all.

AMEN to that. Please read the ENTIRE thread before posting a compaint. I used to answer everybodys concerns but now its just getting old.

This roster is only to tide those who had to have an MLB roster (me included ) until Cubbyfan releases his roster. Just be patient. Use my qs to get use to the game then start your online leagues or personal careers when the legit roster update comes out.

Thanks for the QS.

Is this based on v3 of Cubbyfan's 6.5 roster set or an earlier version?

I am in the process of importing the rosters in this QS into the latest (v3.01) version of the universe created by Matter2003.

How?

How do I use the rosters in this quickstart in a fictional league structure? Basically, I want to have my own league setup (with inaugural draft) and use the real players as in this quickstart. How can I do that?

When I use the quickstart here, it starts on 1/1/2006 and is too late to go back and fix league structure, do an inaugural draft, etc.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks.

You may just want to do a Lahman export of 2005. But I am probably wrong.

AvsFan,
Thanks for your work on this. I am so deep and involved in my league. I may not switch when the new rosters come out. I am having mucho fun!!!!
Thanks again....

Can somebody else explain a little further how I can use these real rosters to start a new fictional league structure with initial draft? I've read other forum posts about Lahman, but I'm really lost here as to how this works to accomplish what I'm trying to do. I'm a smart guy, so all I need is a hint here!

Here's one thing that I have tried & has worked, but I'm sure there's a better way (I hope). I have done the following:

- Started the quickstart from this thread
- Gone to each league and done a "release all players / clear rosters" for each
- Exported each league's rosters to a unique file
- Started a new universe with my desired structure, etc.
- Before initial draft in my new universe, I imported each of the rosters from each of the files above.

This seems to work (and is very tedious, btw), but it still leaves one problem: the free agent pool is still full of the fictional players that were created as a result of my new universe. So, to really do what I want (a draft with all real players and no fictional to start), I need to first delete every player from the free agent pool of my new universe - one by one - and then import every roster set that I exported above. With thousands of players, that is very time consuming.

There must be a better way! Can anybody help me, please?

Thanks.

I read that, and I'm still confused. In fact, I guess I'm not alone, since somebody asked a similar question I did. How did you import the rosters to use in your own new universe?

Anybody? Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I tried to change lineups, rosters, etc and the game switched them back immediately, even though I'm supposed to make all those decisions. Is that an issue with this quickstart or with the game? Can somebody please give me some information? These rosters look pretty good, but I haven't been able to play the game so far because of these issues. Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind. I found a solution.

I have had the same problem even after patch 1.02. How did you do it or does anybody else have a solution?

I believe from what I have been told the problem lies with the fact that this quickstart was created before the patch, and so the rosters were imported before the patch, and thus the effects of the patch don't actually work on it! lol

Just wait for the real rosters, the stats with imported stuff still sucks pretty hard (unless you get a different roster set, the settings in this do not convert right).

Is there a way for me to edit league structure after I start the Quickstart game? I Love the Major League levels setup, however in order to speed everything up i want to delete out a few of the Minor Leagues so that I can get thru a Season Sim Faster. How can I go about doing this?
Thanks
