Hey man, thanks for your all your hard work, I've been working on the same thing myself, and I may just throw in the towel and use your stuff. Is there anyway you could make this a quickstart? I'd like to look over it and make a few minor adjustments before starting. Thanks again.

Other folks might choose to just eliminate the AZL and GCL entirely. They're not exactly real leagues anyway. MLB calls them "complex" leagues because they play all their games in training complexes and they don't have real fans. Basically their games are only watched by organization staff.

Obviously, anybody can do whatever appeals to them most in their own world, but my inclination would be to include independent professional leagues and collegiate wood-bat leagues before affairs like the AZL/GCL.

WinRAR, which is trial-ware.

Or IZArc, which is freeware.

Both can be found easily via Google.

The complex leagues are 'real' leagues, there is a schedule, statistics are kept, and sometimes they even play in the spring training stadiums themselves. Also, I don't know about the Gulf Coast but the Arizona League championships are taken seriously by the teams. The leagues themselves are an important part of the draft and developmental process. If they are voted to be eliminated they will be incorporated into the instructional league system.

Having defended them, as far as OOTP goes, I would agree with you that I can't see the point of them, especially because the league structure isn't supported by the schedule generator. They are largely developmental and unless you want to spend a ~lot~ of time developing your players and perfecting your minor league system, it makes sense to not include them.

Folks have different standards about what makes a league "real."

Any number of rec leagues, including the one in my county, have meticulous schedules and statistics. Whether they take their championships more "seriously" than the AZL would be a subjective judgement. (I'm mildly curious what the basis for your assertion on that point is.)

As far as I'm concerned, the AZL/GCL already are "instructional," since they clearly aren't for the fans.

I've actually attended an AzL Championship game, I think it was two years ago, and there was a lot of passion on the field. I don't think that anyone playing in a championship game, from high school to the world series, would not take the championship seriously. The Arizona League is not a Rec league, and while the emphasis is on teaching and scouting prospects, it's also the first step for umpires, many Latin or Asian players, and the occasional first round draft pick.

There is also a difference between the Arizona League and, say, extended spring training or October instructional leagues, which take place in the same facilities - those aren't minor leagues, the schedules aren't standardized, official statistics are not kept.

Ok, I'm trying to d/l this group of files - I'm logged into the site but when I try to d/l the first part of the league file I get an error message saying that I can't access this page and have to go back. I then check the files I've d/l and it says that I've d/l the file today which I have not. Anyone assist here?
Thanks
