My dad told me today that he had read that the Rangers were thinking about dealing for Juan Pierre. I smacked the old man upside the head.

It's also being comfirmed on www.mlbtraderumors.com, they seem to be pretty accurate. Anyways, I don't make up my info.

Darkhorse - I've also heard Pierre to Rangers, but it seems much more likely he will be a Cub. I'm not sure why the deal to the Cubs is stalling. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Milton Bradley come to Texas and while his attitude may not be right, we are in need of a Center Fielder and he has the talent to make it big.

Bruce Levine of ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting that the Cubs have indeed signed John Mabry to a one-year deal.

Here's a link
It's not highly reputable, and I don't know why we're not seeing other places pick up the story yet, but I buy it now. edit: actually the tribune is calling it too Last edited by CHCfan; 11-29-2005 at 08:35 AM. |

Well it mlb.com is reporting the cubs have reached a deal for juan pierre.
http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/m...=.jsp&c_id=chc "The Cubs, who lost in the bidding for free agent Rafael Furcal, reached agreement with the Florida Marlins late Tuesday on a trade that would reportedly net Chicago center fielder Juan Pierre in exchange for a package that includes Double-A pitching prospects Ricky Nolasco and Renyel Pinto."

Dola,
www.rotoworld.com is reporting that sergio mitre is also involved in the trade. EDIT: ESPN, is reporting this as well. What now happens to corey patterson? Did the cubs give up too much? Is milten bradley next? Until next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

They gave up too much. I think they will try movin Patterson in some deal to Cincy for either Kearns or Dunn. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Hendry tries to keep Corey out of the Central for fear of the deal coming back to haunt him.

When Loria throws a tantrum, he doesn't fool around. The Marlins may not win 60 games next year.

I believe the Cubs just got ripped off big time, terrible deal for Hendry..
We made a Kenny Williams "Podsednik" deal of our own by acquiring a guy who had an OPS below .700 last season. I don't know what the deal is with some GMs. Maybe it's ignorance? Pierre never had an OPS that touched .800, and is also terrible in the outfield (ranked 28th out of all CFs fielding wise, Wilkerson was 6th and we could've gotten him for much less since Bowden undervalues him) We got him for Mitre and two good prospects in Pinto and Nolasco. Hendry just lost his job, along with Baker as the Cubs win total will barely reach 65/70. Hopefully the Tribune Co. sells the team too. I end my Cubbies rant!
