REGIONALS

In the introductory post I talked about how the Regionals will consist of 6 or 7 team triple elimination tournaments. Before starting to post the game recaps, I'll shortly show what these look like.

Not only have I added the tournament brackets, but also the gamedays for every game, which I use as a guideline for which pitchers are available. I've taken inspiration from most college baseball conference tournaments because they manage to congest a full tournament into one week.

For this round, which team gets drawn into which slot (ie. who is team 1, team 2 etc) is done completely random by using a random number generator.

NORTHEAST REGIONAL

Using the 7 team bracket I uploaded in the prior post, I've done a random draw with the initial schedule being as follows:

NORTHEAST REGIONAL
GAME 1

Recap:
Ian Anderson absolutely dominated for seven shutout innings to take Northern New England to an easy win over New Jersey. Catcher Tom Murphy went 4-for-4 with a double and crossed home plate three times. For New Jersey, it was an anemic offensive day, with only three base hits.

NORTHEAST REGIONAL
GAME 2

Recap:
A six-run 3rd from Southern New England was the basis for an absolute thrashing of New York City. All players in the lineup for the visiting team collected a base hit, with four two-hit and three two-RBI performances. Pitching-wise, Aaron Civale threw five one-run innings in only 72 pitches to be able to pitch on three days rest and preserve New England South's bullpen after which a trio of relievers threw another four shutout. New York City's starter Tim Adleman was pulled in the 3rd inning after giving up six runs on seven hits.

NORTHEAST REGIONAL
GAME 3

Recap:
Three early runs put Boston up ahead for good against Greater New York. Alex Cobb threw 4.1 shutout innings to put the visitors in a great position to reach the next round after which Steven Hajjar and Scott Oberg threw one-hit long reliefs. For the home team, Marcus Stroman threw a quality start (albeit as a follower) but his offense let him down. Greater Boston will now face Southern New England in the next round. Meanwhile, Greater New York will drop down to the loser's bracket to face New Jersey.

NORTHEAST REGIONAL
GAME 4

Recap:
It was a Delmarva offensive showcase at Camden Yards today. The home team absolutely destroyed New England North by a scoreline of 12-1. The meat of the lineup absolutely delivered with Paul Goldschmidt reaching base twice and hitting two RBI and Mike Trout going 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. The best performer of the game, however, was Gavin Sheets. The Delmarva DH went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI. Zac Gallen was near-perfect for 4.1 innings, but was relieved early when the scoreline allowed it to keep him relatively rested throughout the Regional. With that win, the home team is already assured of surviving the Northeast Regional, because they can no longer finish lower than fourth.

New Jersey should be playing in game 7 and New York City should take their place in game 6 to host Greater New York, it seems, according to your already-stated plan here for seven-team regionals. You set it up for the loser of game one to face the loser of game 5, it seems, so could you have accidentally put them in the wrong game here, in terms of your relevant bracket's graphics seen above? Am curious to see how this tournament might just play out, in any case, to be sure. CD out.

Thanks for your comment. You're absolutely right, I switched up New York City and New Jersey. I've corrected it and it will show up correct in the next update. Thanks for the extra pair of eyes
