Attached is a 1924 image of right handed outfielder Walter Mueller of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Mueller was the Pirates regular fourth outfielder behind Barnhart, Carey and Bigbee for his first 2 Major League seasons in 1922 and 1923, appearing in over 100 games both years. In 1924 the previously rarely used future Hall Of Famer Kiki Cuyler established himself in a starting role and Mueller's appearances were substantially reduced. After a one year absence Mueller was back with the Pirates in 1926 appearing in 19 games in his final year in the Majors.

Thanks. That was a bit of a challenge. Required several layers of blended shading tweaks in Elements (Topaz was no help for that). Not the kind of thing you want to do every day.

Elmore Michael Jacob colorized. I employed kolorize.cc and palette.fm on this one and enhanced twice with Pica.ai after reblurring the image in GIMP.

Attached is a 1924 image of Boob Fowler with the Cincinnati Reds.

Fowler was a left handed hitting back-up middle infielder predominantly with the Reds. He threw right handed. 1924 was by far his most dominant Major League year. He made his debut in 1923 playing in 11 games all as a shortstop. in 1924 he made 59 of his 78 career appearances mainly at short. His career batting average is highly impressive. In 1924 he matched his 1923 average of .333 but over an additional 100 plate appearances, 134. In 1925 he was limited to just 5 games despite his average increasing to .400.

He appeared for the Boston Red Sox in 1926 but over his 8 at bats his average slumped to just .125, bringing down his career batting average to
.326.

One of the more difficult career's to explain, presumably the rationale is explained by his nickname.

Pittsburgh Alleghenys 1882, another random ballplayer I am related to on my dad's side. 1882 was the team's first year as a major league club.

For those wondering who exactly, since I brought it up earlier too, I am related to Walter Bellis, Ren Wylie and a minor league player named Perry Belles (who unfortunately no photos exist of) on my father's side, and Dave Koslo on my mother's.
