My analysis (for what it's worth). Bad stoppage but I liked Matthysse. He punched wide sometimes (bad) but he likes to go to the body (good).

I agree with that, he didn't look bad. I think a 9 is an ambitious rating. But you never know until they step up.

True, I liked it. I have a # of South American bangers now @ 140 that could have some real tough fights in the months ahead.

I had wondered for years about the feather-fisted Daniels' stoppage win over Schmeling before finding an account of the fight in an issue of Boxing forn the 1930s. The KO occured in the 1st round. That is interesting to know because I know that Daniels must be a "1" rated HP fighter and a first round KO of Schmeling did make me wonder.
