Leona Kearns 1926
With this new picture with a much clearer shot of her face recently surfacing the internet for the first time I thought it'd be cool to do this one.

Squiz Pillion 1915
Cecil Randolph "Squiz" Pillion colorized from an image shared a long time ago by t_wil
For what it is worth, I upscaled the image with deepnostalgia.ai ***EDIT*** I was sent a better source image of Squiz, colorized it with deepnostalgia and then upscaled again. Last edited by krantzbucks; 03-01-2025 at 02:05 AM. Reason: added 2 images |

Andrew Bixby 1856
Not sure if it's possible to get a colorization of this since its from a woodcut but I cannot find any actual photos of this player's face, though I'd suspect it is based on an actual photo that just hasn't been found yet. He played for the New York Eagles of the NABBP and according to a paper from 1866 the description is: “Uniform consists of dark blue flannel pants, check shirt and blue cap with white visor.”

Jimmy Dykes 1918
Thank you for the Mike Gonzalez colorization.
Jimmy Dykes is the subject of the attached image (somewhat colored?) of him with the 1924 Philadelphia Athletics. Dykes joined the Athletics in 1918 and stayed with them through 1932. He then joined the Chicago White Sox in 1933 and stayed until 1939 to complete a 22 year Major League career. Dykes established himself as a starter in 1920 initially at second-base with Joe Dugan at third. It was in 1922 that he moved across to third-base the position he played most of his games. In 1923 and 1924 he was back at second, before moving to third in 1925. In 1927 he was starting at first with Sammy Hale manning third. In 1928, Joe Hauser started at first and Jimmie Foxx at third as Dykes lost his status as a line-up regular. In 1929 became a starter at his fourth different infield position at shortstop. Dykes saw out his remaining 3 years in Philadelphia back at third base as a starter. From 1933 through 1936 was a starter at third for the White Sox before finishing his final 3 seasons in a reserve position. An All-Star in the first 2 contests of 1933 and 1934. Earned MVP consideration in 4 seasons, strangely not the years he was an All-Star. 1929 was probably his best season when he finished 6th in MVP voting, batting .327 with an On-Base average of 412 and slugged at a .539 rate with a .950 OPS. Also hit over .300 and was on-base over .400 in 1930. Played in 2282 games in his 22 years accumulating 2256 hits at an average of .280. 11 times earned Hall Of Fame votes coming closest to induction in 1960. Frank Gibson 1913
Lovely outcome in respect of your effort, thank you.
Switch hitter Frank Gibson made his debut with the Tigers in 1913. He played mainly as a catcher. After appearing in 23 games in his rookie season he reappeared 8 years later with the Boston Braves in 1921, representing them every year until finishing his Major League career after 1927. With the exception of 1925 he played the role of back-up catcher. In 1925 he played in over 100 games for the only time in his career, normally hitting in the 8 position. His batting average appeared to suffer as a regular dipping to .276. Before he hit .299. .300 and .310 in 1922 through 1924. After he hit .340 in 1926. Here he is with the 1924 Braves. |

Frank Dupee 1901
I was hoping to get one of him, since I can't get any of the programs to work well for this one.

Hersh Lyons 1941
Herschel Englebert Lyons colorized in an image shared by Bearman14. It is colorized with kolorize.cc and I upscaled it with deepnostalgia.ai
It would appear that the uniform in the image is an Atlanta Crackers uniform. I took some liberties and made the uniform colors red. |

Rip Wheeler 1921
Amazingly good colorization of Gibson, much appreciated.
Here is a 1924 image of Rip Wheeler pictured with the Chicago Cubs. Right handed pitcher Wheeler debuted with the 1921 Pittsburgh Pirates. In both 1921 and 1922 his Major League season record amounted to just 1 game with the Pirates. In 1923 he joined the Cubs and his season appearances trebled. With the 1924 Cubs he participated in 29 of his career total of 34 games. That final career season he pitched just over 100 innings and finished 17 games. |
