Dear Mr. UKHS,
My favourite player is Mark Teixeira. I think he is an awesome hitter and first baseman. But he is going to leave the Texas Rangers soon. What should I do?

Many thanks,
Paul

That went as far over my head as Paul Robinson's boot went over the ball on that backpass.
So you are ahead of me on this one.

lol nah, Cubs tick every box apart from pinstripes, because I've never grown up with a baseball team unlike in football I have with Celtic and Wigan. No baseball team really ticks all the boxes that's why it's hard to pick one team.

I like NL ball so it takes out all the AL teams, I like east coast/midwest baseball so it takes out the NL West, I like teams with deep history who haven't moved around alot so that leaves Philadelphia, St Louis, Cubbies and Pittsburgh. St Louis dominates Phillies and Cubs pinstripes and I'd like to see my team at least reach the play offs once in my life so Pittsburgh nah lol, like I say it's a dilema as no team ticks all the boxes.

I could say he's a crap hitter and first baseman if you would rather.
And maybe he is, but then I'm slightly biased.

I like the Rangers but could you ever see a Celtic fan wearing a Texas Rangers jersey follow him to where he goes that's why it's easier sometimes to follow a player rather than a team.

Well, Rome burned while Nero fiddled. Apply as needed.

Yes, I can see that being a slight problem.

Oh, and thanks for the advice!

Fiddling as playing the violin while Rome burned. As he did nothing while his world collapsed around him.

Really. Must I explain EVERYTHING to you young Master Paul.

...but you're not a real fan if you don't follow a team.

I know that's what you meant.

What sdpm says on post above plus it's easier to fly to the east coast, I hate travelling it's the most boring thing to do sit on a plane so the shorter the flight the better.

I'm liking the Lasorda and A's adverts, that's what we lack over here sports adverts with a bit of humour thrown in.

I'm like Tony Kornheiser. I'm asleep way before then.

And why haven't you replied to post 5507 and 5516? Were they that bad?
