So what will the pitching look like if they are done dealing? Am I missing something?

Starting staff:

Verlander
Zimmerman
Sanchez
Norris
Boyd/Farmer/Pelfrey/Greene

Pen:
Greene/Boyd
Hardy
Nesbitt
Rondon
Rodriguez

I don't know what injury status may be of these guys but Fister, Gallardo and Latos are still unsigned.

Forgot about Mark Lowe - he'll be in the pen too.

Starting rotation won't be what we have been used to. I think the pen could be better but it could be awful if Rodriguez suddenly gets old.

Just read yesterday, that Fister is seeking 2 years 22 million. Burnett retired.

I really think the success of this team rides on Verlander, Victor Martinez and whether or not Miguel Cabrera can stay healthy . If Victor hits like last year, this team won't win enough to compete. Verlander has to pitch like an ace or this team won't compete. You know Sanchez is good for 2 or more trips to the disabled list. Pelfrey is a batting practice pitcher.

I've never really followed Upton, but isn't he an extremely streaky hitter?

I think I read something about him that he can be, yes.

The 2016 Tigers are still relying on a lot of what-ifs, even with all the guys they picked up so far this offseason. Verlander being an ace. Victor Martinez hitting the ball. Zimmerman being the good number 2 he's supposed to. Norris living up to the increasing hype. Castellanos finally breaking through. Etc. I think this team is on the cusp of being good, but there's going to have to be good performances from all the right guys at all the right times or it could just as easily fall apart. I am excited about the bullpen though, but I don't know if that's because it looks like could actually be good or because it has sucked so bad the last few years that anything looks good in comparison.
