Great job with this! I've been following along for awhile now.
Two questions if you don't mind. - I love those old school backgrounds in the Topps cards. The yellow, green ones etc. I have that Topps template, but where did you get those backgrounds? The ones I'm referring to are on page 15. - Where can I get that old MLB logo? Thanks! edit: Found the facegen backgrounds, now I just need to find that old MLB logo in png format.

1950 Regular Season
To coincide with Mule Suttles HOF induction, I’ve decided to name the ROY award as the Mule Suttles Rookie Award. Mule Suttles had the greatest rookie year I’ve ever seen in 1923 when he hit .391 with 50 home runs and 195 RBI’s. 18 year old Willie Mays made the Tigers out of spring training as their starting CF after two cups of coffee the last 2 years. He started well, hitting .313, with a homer, but, lets say he ran into a wall. Literally! Post Concussion syndrome, and his season is over after 12 games. ![]() Willie Mays A huge blow to the 2 time defending World Series Champs. ![]() Minoso is an elite outfielder, who can’t just be replaced. It’s anyone’s guess how long he’ll be gone, and I don’t know if the Dodgers will retain his rights. BNN Stats: Active Career Batting Leaders: So, who is the active leader in the Major League Baseball in career home runs? Hal Trosky Sr, BSN, 373 Hank Greenberg, SLA, 346 Joe DiMaggio, SLA, 297 Zeke Bonura, PIT, 266 Ted Williams, CHA, 249 ![]() Hal Trosky ![]() There have been a lot of trades this year. Too many to mention. Bill Salkeld, Bobby Thompson, Lou Boudreau, Sal Maglie, and Ted Kluszewski have all found new homes, but the biggest name to be dealt is Ralph Kiner. What a deal for the Browns, who look to be rebuilding. Kiner has 35 homers so far this year, and is in his prime. They also just picked up 25 year old Ted Kluszewski. DiMaggio can still play, and they’ll be getting a high draft pick. The Browns are on the rise again! It’s September 1st, and it’s already a foregone conclusion that the Sox and Dodgers will meet again for the World Series, but man the White Sox look better then ever. Ted Williams is having a career year, hitting .368. He’s already set career highs in home runs and RBI’s. Pitcher Eishiro Yoshie is 30-1. That’s the best WL record in baseball history. He’s got a shot at both the modern day record of 32 wins, held by Dutch Leonard and Jesse Tannehill, and the All-time record of 36 wins, held by Cy Young. I should mention when I refer to modern day, I mean things that happen after 1900, stuff I've simmed. Yoshie The Chicago White Sox, are on a mission. Starting September with a 20 game lead, they go 23-2 over the final month, and set the all-time win mark with a 118-36 record!! This is the most dominant team I’ve ever seen. This team is so good, that Yogi Berra can’t find any room in the starting lineup!! ![]() Ted Williams wins his sixth batting title, and will probably be the league MVP again. Ralph Kiner hits 19 more home runs after his midseason trade to St. Louis, for a total of 54, the most since Lou Gehrig hit 55 in 1936. White Sox pitcher Eishiro Yoshie finishes the season 34-2 setting the modern day record for wins in a season. Minnie Minoso wins the batting title, right before leaving the Dodgers to join the armed forces. Bob Feller obliterates his old strikeout record, recording 410. |

![]() The Dodgers are a great team. Their pitching is better, they hit home runs, and have won 2 championships. They aren’t the 1950 White Sox though, and I don’t expect them to win this series. The Sox have been dominant. Their star power, their offensive depth is amazing. This lineup doesn’t include SS Al Rosen, whose out for the series, but hit 20 home runs this year, and Yogi Berra, whose on the bench hitting .327, with 13 home runs! |

1950 World Series
Yoshie keeps doing what he’s been doing in the opener, throwing a complete game, 2 hit shutout, in what will go down as one the most dominant pitching performance in World Series History. 9 innings, 2 hits, 2 walks, 7 K's, 2-0 win. Dodgers ace Lou Brissie does an amazing job for his team in a back and forth game 2. With the Dodgers leading 4-3 in the ninth, Richie Ashburn walked, and moved to third on an error. He was brought in on a sac fly, and extra inning were needed. Brissie pitched a scoreless 10th inning, and would get the win when the Dodgers scored in the 11th. 5-4 Brooklyn to tie the series. Ted Williams left the game in the 5th, and will miss the remainder of the series. Back in Brooklyn, Robin Roberts shuts down the powerful White Sox offense, and the Dodgers take it 3-1. The Dodgers commit 3 errors, and 21 year old Curt Simmons allowed a 1st inning run. Still, Simmons allows 3 hits the rest of the game, and beats Sox ace Eishie 3-1! Jack Maguire’s lead off home run starts a 3 run first inning. That’s a lead Lou Brissie would never surrender. The Dodgers have proved me very very wrong, and won their 3rd straight World Series!! ![]() |

as always great job...this sim/replay has certainly become one of dynasties. seems like every team that wins a world series goes on to win (or atleast make) multiple in a row.

1950-51 Offseason News and Notes Satchel Paige has called it a career, and retired as the greatest pitcher we have ever seen. He is baseball’s career leader in wins, shutouts, and strikeouts. He won 9 Rube Waddell awards! He pitched in only 1 World Series game, a win in 1931, helping the Pirates to a World title! Here’s a look at his career.
![]() Rocky Colavito is the newest member of the St. Louis Browns organization, after being selected 1st overall in the 1950 MLB draft. He’s raw, but he’s got great power potential. Maury Wills going ninth to the Reds is a steal. He’ll be a 15 time all star or something like that! ![]() ![]() Fresh off the drafting of a potential new star, the St. Louis Browns have crushed their fans. They have traded Joe DiMaggio, to the cross town Cardinals!! ![]() ![]() The HOF committee(the game) nominated 4 players for induction into the Hall this year. Johnny Hodapp, Barney Brown, Pinkey Whitney and Dale Mitchell. In my attempt to stay strict, and keep the Hall as elite as possible, none of the nominees were inducted. As with all nominees though, they may be added later on. The Browns continue to clean house, as they send 38 year old Robert Griffith to the Washington Senators. ![]() Hmm, it seems with the squad trading fan favorites, their fan support might dwindle, forcing a…change in location soon…….Robert Griffith is still a pretty good pitcher. He's had injury problems, but I'd want him on my team. ![]() |

The above is one of the things that annoys me about the game. It's only pre-season predictions so no big deal, but Ted Williams has been the best hitter in the league for what, the past 3-4 years? He's not even "predicted" to be in the top 10 hitters in the AL in the predictions. Yet the game still has him ranked as the #1 hitter. Just odd thinking IMO

1951 MLB Regular Season
The White Sox have the top 3 rated players in baseball. Ted Williams, Smoky Burgess and Yogi Berra. Problem is Yogi and Smoky are both catchers. Ted Williams is currently hurt, and, while Yogi can play OF, the Sox have placed him as backup catcher and backup RF. I can’t believe they are wasting an asset like that! ![]() Smoky Burgess 50 games into the season, Ted Williams remains hurt, Yogi Berra has had 45 at bats, and Smokey Burgess is hitting .250. This is fairly poor roster management from White Sox GM and former Cubs 3B Red Corriden. The White Sox are in 3rd place, with a 26-24 record. ![]() Yogi Berra Joe DiMaggio suffered what will result in a close to season long ankle injury early in the year, leaving the Cardinals in need of a OF. They went and picked up one who looks perfect in a Cardinals uniform. ![]() Stan Musial is a St. Louis Cardinal. I love when the game works out like this. ![]() ![]() Weird move. Washington has decided to trade 25 year old all-star catcher Nate Peeples. ![]() The Senators get 5 players including Norm Zauchin, who has the highest power potential in baseball, but he isn’t a sure thing. Peeples won the rookie of the year in 49, and was a 1st time all star this year. Despite the lack of production the White Sox received from the top 3 rated players in the league, they are able to win the American League pennant. It seems like this years squad is the weakest of the last 3 years, so they will probably be the ones that win the World Series. With 2 games remaining in the season, there is a 3 way tie for 1st place in the National league. ![]() Pittsburgh will be hosting the Reds. The Dodgers are visiting Philly, while the Giants are on the road in Boston. ![]() All 3 teams win convincingly, keeping the 3 way tie in tact for the final day of the season. We have never seen a 3 way tie before, so obviously, I’m rooting for it. On the final day.... ![]() The Reds win 5-4 over Pittsburgh, and the Giants are able to destroy Boston 8-2. That eliminates the Pirates. In Philly, the Dodgers and the Phillies are tied after 9. They play a scoreless 10th, and 11th, and 12……………….13….14……15…….16…… ![]() Jack Lohrke’s 3 run home run ends the reign of the 3 time defending champion Dodgers, and clinches the pennant for the NY Giants! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

1951 World Series
Chicago’s Jim Mallory keyed a late inning rally with a 2 run home run, but it ultimately fell just short, as the Giants hold on to win game one, 4-3. For the 2nd straight year, Ted Williams goes down early in the World Series. He hurts his wrist and will miss the rest of the season. It took 9 innings, and a wonderful complete game from Eishiro Yoshie, but the White Sox were able to win game 2 with a 2 run, walk off home run from Willie Jones! The Giants Art Johnson responds to Yoshie’s game 2 brilliance by one upping him in game 3. Johnson throws 9 innings, allowing just 7 hits, shutting out the Sox 1-0. Pitching is dominating! Phil Rizzuto goes 4/4, with a 2 run home run , but that’s pretty much all the offense NY would get, as the White Sox tie the series with a 5-3 win. Yoshie gets hammered in game five, allowing 5 runs over seven innings. The White Sox score 4 times in the 7th and 8th though, to send the game to extras. In the bottom of the 10th, Giants star Dick Wilson hits a walk off 3 run home run to put the squad on the brink! The Giants offense explodes for 15 hits, 12 runs in a championship clinching 12-1 game 6 win! ![]() |

NL dominance continues...Ted Williams continues to disappoint...a new dynasty starting possibly? Alot of changes in the next few years, so will be interesting to see is the trend of teams topping the standings for a few years in a row continues.
And as always, great job on the dynasty and graphics/pics |
