I'm in year 2019 and noticed there are tons of ncaa players who have played 6 plus years in that league.
I've also seen players who have played pro (AHL and NHL games) along with major junior end up in ncaa div 1 at the age of 22. It is also quite common in FHM that many ineligible players end up in the ncaa and that others play 5 years or more as indicated above. 4 years and they should be out (unless redshirt where they won't play a year)

That's actually the "promised team role" that was promised to the player when his contract was signed. It defaults to normal for pre-existing contracts at the start of the game, so that's why everyone has it to begin with.

Here's a shootout bug that cost my team a point! New Jersey got to tie it up with their fourth shooter...

I tried to trade Matt Stajan and $2.5 million (his contract amount) to Minnesota for Matthew Dumba.
Fletcher responds saying "We cannot add so much money to out payroll." Although I'm pleased the AI didn't go for the trade, the reasoning is off since it would cost the Wild nothing in cash. They do have cap room as they initially approached me with the trade for Stajan, but offered some minor league scrub. |

Protected List
Historic Mode 1.1.13:
Another thing which is a major bug in the historic mode is the limit of 50 players on the "Protected List". I know that there is/was a limit of 50 contracted players. You are including drafted/unsigned players in the list. For me this view "Protected List" should be replaced by "Reserve List" and the limit should be increased to 90 Players. Here is a Definition of the CBA-Definition about "Reserve List" and max. contracts for a team (found in the web): "Reserve List" means the list of all Players to whom a Club has rights including all Unsigned Draft Choices, all Players signed to an SPC (whether or not currently playing in the NHL), and all Players who have signed an SPC but who have subsequently been returned to Juniors. A Club may have on its Reserve List, at any one time, not more than 90 Players, which shall include the following:To be clear: That’s a Reserve List of 90 players, and a Contract Limit of 50. Fixing this bug would immediately solve the problem of teams releasing drafted players right after the draft because of the 50 player limit currently in place. Will this be solved in a future release/patch? And can you please comment on why there is no "Reserve List" in the game and what means "Protected List"? Thanks and keep up the good work! |

Re-calculation of player values after 1st season not working
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
It seems that in the historic mode the re-calculatin of players values is not done when game proceeds from June 30th to July 1st after the 1st season. Any season after that the values are updated at this point of the game. I found out how to manually refresh the visible values by going to "Commissoner Mode" every July 1st, select a player, "Edit Player" and press "Save" without doing anything else. After the 1st season nothing changes. Each season after that on July 1st the values are re-calculated. For example: M.Messier in 1979 has a 6.0 in Ability. on July 1st, 1980 nothing changes. On July 1st, 1981 his Ability is changed to 8.0. This is especially bad if you draft a player like that and you have to wait for two years until he really has the Ability he had in reality in 1980-81. Can you first activate the re-calculation of player values after finishing the first season? This would be a big help! Maybe a solution would to completly de-activate "Scouting" and to show always the real values for "Ability" and "Potential" to everyone. The AI knows the real values anyway, they always draft players Independent of show values And it is "Historic Mode", all human players know e.g. that a player like A. MacInnis will be a Superstar although he as an "Ability" of 5 and "Potential" of 9 on draft day 1981. Last edited by jh95; 11-10-2013 at 06:48 AM. |

Sorting lost when selecting a player
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
In any table used in the game there is a problem with lost sorting after selecting a player and hitting the "Back" button. For example the "Draft Page": I sorty by "Potential". I want to look at a player´s details. After watching the details I hit the "Back" button on the top left of the screen. The list is displayed again but the sorting is lost. My proposed solution: Would it be possible to add a separate column wih a little button/hyperlink to each player in the list. When a user clicks the button/hyperlink a separate window opens with the Details of the player. No Actions should be possible in the opended window, it should only show the details of the player. That is just a solution I could image. Maybe you know someting better... Thanks and have a nice day! Last edited by jh95; 11-10-2013 at 07:51 AM. |

Initial number of years in contracts to high
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
When I start a new game least 50 percent of the players on any team have contracts with a lenght of 4 or more years. In my opinion this is not realistic. The average contract length should be 3 or less years. The 4, 5 and 6 year contracts are especially annoying if a weak/useless player has it. Of course you can change it manually but a more realistic auto-setup of the contract-length would be very helpful. Thank you! |

Dressing/Scratching players
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
When a player gets injured one has to select the injured player and via right-mouse click Option "Scratch Player" remove him from the lineup. Another player has to be selected via the right-mouse click option "Dress Player". After this one has to manually fill all open spots in the "Lineup" previously filled by the injured player. A cool feature would be that if one could select the icon for a dressed player and drag and drop it to the new player. When this is done all spots in the "Lineup" would also be automatically filled with the new player. I remember this useful feature from EHM 2007 and it really makes the replacing of injured players in the "Lineup" much easier. BTW: All my post shall not put a bad view on the game! I really enjoy it and I think it has an immense potential to a heck of game! Thanks for all the hard work you put into realizing this game!!!! |

History of Player gets reset each season
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
The "History" data of a player is getting reset on each July 1st and contains only data of the current season... Same happens to "Transaction Report" of teams. In the 4th season it only contains transactions of the 4th season (1983). The "Transaction Report" is missing info about traded and acquired draft picks. It also does not show Transactions of Rights to Players (free agents or unsigned draft picks). Last edited by jh95; 11-10-2013 at 11:08 AM. |

Injuries mostly happen to Defensemen
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
I think I read about following problem in a previous post: I am halfway through my season. The "Injury" settings have both a value of 0.5. Up to now I had 6 injured players and all were Defensemen. I noticed the same phenomenon in the previous three seasons as well. Thanks! |

Trade problem
Historic Mode 1.3.13:
The contract of player "D.Sutter" ran out at the end of the previous season. On July 1st I offered a contract to the player. On July 2nd I offer the rights to this player in a trade to another team. While still mulling over the offer I complete the trade that sends the player to another team. Although he has joined the other team, my contract offer to the player is still active. I removed the offer instantly and cannot tell if the player would have accpted the offer. Also I cannot tell what would have happened if he accepted offer. The solution would be just to remove all offers to players which rights are traded. Thanks! |

This has probably already been mentioned, but players on IR are unhappy due to 'Insufficient Playing Time'. I can't help it if you're out for 5 months!
Maybe unhappy due to being 'injured'? |
