I still get the crash after disabling ghost players as well. Do you want my league file, also?

Something which may be causing a lot of people trouble and maybe even crashes is the fact that, at least in the last version, Jim Smith (commissioner) started out acting as the Orioles. I simply set him to not act as anything and set the team to allow AI moves. Well, I came to find later that the team wasn't making any moves at all and had like 7 players on the roster. This could be causing some people crashes.

What you need to do is instead of just clicking off "act as", go to the manager menu and actually resign from the team. This will revert to computer control properly.

Hey Cubby Been a big fan of your rosters for years. NEver really had to post before but I want to thank you and also had a question. I play out about 99percent of my games. I have everything updated in terms of patches. I have 1.4 of your rosters. Since I play out my games im still in 2009 actually.Isthere a way for me to continue my league and prevent the crash from happening or do i have to just chance it and hope it doesn't happen? Thanks for any input for fellow OOTP players.

So my game also crashes now when I go to check available personnel. I tried turning off the complete coaching system and I still can't advance past the current date.

I'm not sure what's going on honestly, I have had zero crashes on about five runthroughs so far.

- Jarrod Washburn's groundball percentage should be 37% (right now it's 58%)
- Seattle's GM has said his payroll is capped this season at around $95 million
- Pablo Sandoval's defense at catcher is too low - most people I've seen say it's actually his best position defensively
- Kelly Johnson might move to LF - maybe you could give him some experience there? (he is a natural LF anyway)
- Mike Cuddyer might move to 3B - here

I'm still getting a crash with version 1.51. While I can now make it to September 2011, instead of 2010, I still get a crash.

Out of curiosity are you guys deleting the old league before you unzip or are you copying over the old files?

Yeah it appears to be a personnel problem still. Awesome.

Try playing with coaches off to start off with and in the mean time I'll send this back over to Markus.

I generally start a league. Dont touch a thing and then copy your files over the ones of the league i just created. I haven't had a problem yet and ran one test league. Like i said i play out all my games. Is it possible to continue a league that I started before you sent out 1.5, and fix the problem i.e ghost players that it possibly is.

Since its always in September could it possibly something with the rosters expanding in September?

My hypothesis is that since most of the time minor league personnel become FA in September when their season ends, the computer is releasing "ghost" coaches from the "ghost" leagues in September and locking things up. It appears Markus didn't get rid of all of the ghost data.

Might have a good workaround brewing here. For anyone who wants to continue a crashed league, apply this file: coaches.dat to your league, and turn off coaches. It's a blank coach file.

I think that should fix things until I can get some ideas from Markus. I suppose worst case scenario is that I can just re-generate coaches now off this new coaches.dat file.

Give it a shot. I think this should solve all problems.

So if thats the case, preventing transactions in the month of september for the Leagues where ghost players are could solve the issue until a permanent fix?

That file should fix things (finally). I'm not sure if there's a better workaround for now. Going to go ahead and put it in with the current set, update transactions, update some ratings, and upload it as 2.0.

Sorry for the huge pain guys. This has been quite the ordeal.

In addition, removing all of the "retired" players who shouldn't be retired for this next release as well.
