The Rams won the division on the 5th tie breaker, strength of victory. But it seemed like the Rams knew they had it won before their game against the Seahawks. I'm wondering how they did that. They ended up winning it by only 3 games.

It should be recalled that the reason that Chargers-Dolphins MNF had to be moved to Arizona back when was not that Jack Murphy/Qualcomm was threatened by the fires, but rather that it was needed as an evacuation center.
Given that Dodger Stadium, the Rose Bowl and the LA Colosseum are available tor evacuations, presumably SoFi might still be able to host a game. That said, with how badly the response to these fires has been farked up, there's no telling where we might be by Sunday/Monday. |

Frank Wychek had stage 3 CTE when he died Dec 2023 I was more surprised he had died than that he had CTE. I don't remember hearing anything last year.

An NFL record was quietly broken this year, but it took 17 games to do it. The Carolina Panthers hold the NFL record for most points given up during the regular season with 534. Previous record held by the 1981 Baltimore Colts with 533. Those Colts were the worst team I've ever seen take a football field.

One of the worst spots as a coach has got to be going thru 59:57 of playoff football & having to rely on a kicker you've known for a couple of weeks to finish it off.

Just want to add my 2 cents to the Mike Tomlin debate. I personally think he is overrated. I don't think he got enough credit when they were in Super Bowls. And I think he gets too much blame for their 1st round ousters. But he isn't the great coach the media makes him out to be. He's just OK. Sure his players like him. He can fire you up in a PC. But I don't believe he is an A one strategist.
But to those that blame him for this season, I just have one thing for you to consider: Pittsburgh's management attempted to fix their QB problems w/a passer Denver was willing to pay nearly $40M to NOT PLAY for them. Now maybe we can place some of this on Tomlin for playing WIlson instead of Fields. But do we really think Fields would have gotten this team to a conference title game?

As a former DMV resident who never remembers the team being anything but a racist embarrassment. Last night was amazing. Anything after this is just icing on the cake
With a rookie QB and so many missed first round picks. Winning 12 games was a delight in and of itself. We have the ownership and front office we need. And we seem to have a good QB who unless he is injured is on a path upward. And a head coach who really turned around the vibes after last season. Now we just need to start doing better in the draft and continue to build. Last edited by LD84; 01-19-2025 at 01:06 AM. |

I'm all for bringing Coach Prime and the circus to town. Why not. Things won't get much better until ownership turnover anyway.

I think it's easier to spot a bad coach. You can spot bad decisions or when a team isn't ready for a game. So I can say I don't think Tomlin is a bad coach. I'll take him over McCarthy. I can also say he played the best QB on his team. Fields is not any good at all. I think Rex Ryan was a better than average coach. If you can take a Jets team with a bad QB to two straight AFC championship games, you have to be doing something right. |

I think w/Andy Reid you have to look @ McNabb, Vick, Alex Smith as well as Mahomes & conclude he knows how to gameplan. Give him a decent Qb he'll get you in the playoffs. Give him a great one he'll get you to the SB. I think the Seans McVay & Peyton are pretty good too. Shanahan & Mike McDaniel I need to see in more scenarios before I can pass a verdict.
