After reading through this whole fascinating thread, I felt compelled to add that in my league, the first 2 players of the week were...Craig Grebeck (67) and Jean Segura (75). And the second week, the players of the week were...Yulieski Gurriel (66) and Ryan Zimmerman (69).
Carry on. |

You go to work and you miss a lot. Come to find out I'm in the same league as FireAnty, thrownoutathome, and spleen. Good luck to all. Fire Anty looks like he has a great team, so I look forward to the challenge. I'm sure I spent more than most ($40), but just feel compelled to say there is no way you need $200 to field a competitive team.
And I also like Kushiel's idea of flagging when position players pitch, and I'm still in the camp of rewards don't need to be scaled. |

https://msabr.com/2017/03/25/philade...cokes-in-ootp/ As much as I enjoy the idea of experimentation with this game, I think it should be left to personal OOTP users and not set loose on the rest of an unsuspecting community like a bull in a china shop. OK I feel like a fool after reading of how this bronze league is now and how we will be seeded in the future. Actually I am a fool and apologize. I was on the youtube videos and it appeared to me from what an OOTP dev said that we would be seeded based on the entry games. After reading everything here I was completely wrong. I was just so upset after seeing Fire Antys team. His reserves are higher then anyones starters and it would cost tons of rl cash to compete. I really just enjoy this game so much and made a mistake.
I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ACTING LIKE A JERKOFF. I just wan't to be able to compete with a reasonable amount of investment in the future. |

Uh, hello. Pardon me but is this the thread where one may air a bit of frustration with certain competitive balance situations without risking thread lock?
Such as, it's August 24th. One fellow in our league has already won 104 games, has a .819 winning percentage, and leads his division by 31 1/2 games. A week before September even begins. 2 perfects, 13 diamonds, the rest golds. Now, set aside the amount of money he must have spent so far. Do you think he's still having FUN at this point? ![]() I will wave bye-bye to this guy as he ascends into the stratosphere (promotion/relegation is the saving grace of PT). It will be interesting to watch if he gets derailed in the playoffs, though.

We have a guy leading his division by 33 games too. I promise he would not be if he were in the other conference with some of us that are beating up on each other. Maybe he just got lucky and sold some nice cards. I sold Chris Sale today that I got out of a pack last week. Yesterday I sold a Gary Carter catcher 93 OVR for 66k because he is not enough better offensively to start over my Mike Lieberthal 85 OVR. catcher. I knew people would buy the Carter card because it was nice and had a big name

And he gets SWEPT in four games in the Sub-League Series by a team who would only be 30 games back if there were in the same division! ![]() I don't want to go on about this nor do I want to name names as I don't want to appear to be gloating. I will repeat, though, "Do you think he's still having FUN at this point? "And I will say thank goodness once again for OOTPD and the way they have worked the reality of baseball into their game, including the way life has of kicking folks in the teeth at times.

FWIW, I have spent $20 so far. My current team has 3 perfect/9 diamond/12 gold/1 silver. My average ratings for my lineup, rotation, and bullpen are 94.5, 92.2, and 85.6. I won 114 games this year but could've won more had I not played 3-4 players out of position all year in order to add positional flexibility. There were two teams better than me. One won 118 games and is a legit powerhouse. Lineup/rotation are all perfect/diamond including a lot of rare historical cards. The "best" team won 122 games but is prb a bit worse than my team overall. Both I and the 122-win team lost in the first round of the playoffs (both in 4 games) to teams whose best cards were probably on par with our worst cards. The 118-win team went to 5 games in R1 but has steamrolled through everyone since. I think the OVR ratings overstate the difference in quality between good lesser cards (high bronze/low silver, for example) and the diamond/perfect cards.

list cash dollars spent by team owners
list it in the standings, wtf is gonna waste money to win a game where there is no prize money. this game would be great if this cash extraction feature was removed

I don't think you can see teams in other leagues yet. Here is a glimpse:
It really is an impressive roster, I know his B team is better than mine. I don't have a problem with it, but this is baseball too. In the Division Series he went up against a 79 win team, who he beat 15 of 19 times during the regular season, and got taken to five games. That's the David vs. Goliath part of this that can be fun. The best team doesn't always win, that's why they play the games. |

I hope you didn't pay any money to buy the game, because there is no prize money for playing it.

We probably had this discussion a thousand times since beta ...
Everybody has the right to spend as much as he wants on PT.
