If anything, it is one less thing for you to bitch about.

It's too bad that a serious question that might reveal some ratings thoughts or methodology gets that kind of response. Is there another answer or is that it?

Oh, and I don't think I've said anything on the subject in five years, so if you're still harboring a grudge or take my avatar personally, don't.

I'll add the early foreman version later tonight. I'm not sure what happened to it, but it has been deleted.

Thanks IceTea. Also the multiple ratings for Ali if you can.

The Ali rating should remain as only one. The post-prime and end career stage should be employed when using Ali in whatever capacity that you use him. Foreman is an outlier having two vastly different careers. If you want those ratings, I'll post them to the forum if you want.

I understand what you're saying, but it could be argued that Ali had two different careers too. The pre-draft version of Ali as a fighter was quite different than the Ali who returned after the 3 year forced absence from the ring. But I know that 2.5 had a "pre-draft" version and I can just export it and import it into the new version of the game.

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into keeping the database updated.

Mark

* That's interesting and a convincing argument. I'll submit a second rating of Ali covering the fights after his return which is basically a post-prime version. It won't happen overnight - I have to setup a simulation schedule of the opponents he faced most of which should be in the game.

Sounds cool. Thanks!

I am always a bit confused about why there is a need for different ratings for different career stages for some fighters. Shouldn’t the career stages in the game (Beginning, Pre-Prime, Prime, Post-Prime & End) cover this?
I can see the need for George Foreman as he was out of the ring for 10 years and he was a quite a different fighter on his return, maybe for Ali too after his exile.

I’m not saying this is incorrect, just trying to get my head around it. Where do you stop? You wouldn’t have, for example, 2 Benny Leonards, the Leonard who made a comeback would just have his career stage set to End wouldn’t he? Plus if you are running a universe does it spoil the realism having 2 Ali’s in the game?

Ok, sorry if this is a "thick" question, but if I change the career stage of a fighter from, say, prime to post-prime, does that mean the computer automatically tweaks his stats to reflect his declining powers or have I got to do it manually?

It should do it automatically.

It will do it for you, you just have to do it by mass edit. If you just go into the fighters screen where it lists his name, city, etc. it won't change anything. That's assuming it's the same as 2.5, I don't have the new version.

If you've set up auto-aging, it will change ratings automatically, otherwise what is it for?

Is there a seperate thread for suggesting fighters that maybe should be included and/or a thread for suggesting amendments to fighters currently in the database?

Has anyone on the team rated Tyson Fury, and David Haye at heavyweight? It would be an interesting test of Title Bout if we could run a fight between the two now that it seems they may be colliding in September.

I am of a similar opinion regarding different ratings for multiple career stages.
